Cervantes in Soul Calibur has a sword with gun as a handle BTW. "That's cheating! one or the other... blah, blah, blah...."

The only reason to use a back holstered weapon is if it's too big to keep at the hip, like a spear, quarterstaff or greatsword.

This is 12 rounded pistol used by Japanese in ww2. True problem was the sword stick on windows or become useless when they are under heavy fire.
