I'm still getting over carpal tunnel syndrome and trying to explore my options. I've heard of voice attack working with windows and Steam. However, is there a program that works with Mac and emulation possibly?

I've been playing with the settings and even setting my voice commands to those of the controller, but no luck. The only progress was when I tried it with Daggerfall and was able to get my character to move over a mm when I said the word "right." hahah so that still wasn't helpful.

I'm hoping I can get over this soon, but I'd just like to know if there are options out there?

can you try keyboard binding instead of controller bindings and set things up that way?
I dont know much about voice control but there was an old pc program called "Dragon Naturally Speaking" (or something like that that) that would do that kind of thing
saying "right" = keyboard stroke D = right "d-pad" press in a emulator???

or am i being dumb and that was the first thing you tried?

That’s sort of what I tried. Apple has a lot of accessibility settings already. So it lets me specify per app. So I selected the emulation app. And then I created a command that would match the button I would select on the keyboard.

It works a little bit in the games installed for the computer, like daggerfall unity. If I could just get it to control how much I move in a certain direction. I can also get my MacBook to follow my head as the mouse, so it lets me look around in the game a little that way too. It was very small, but that was the only “success” I’ve had with any of my attempts.

I’d only accept if I get stuck at a boss and was able to directly tell the boss to go fuck itself.

Hey You, Pikachu comes to mind. I wonder if voice-based controls could help you play turn-based RPGs or card games?

And I know this sounds like a joke, but I had been interested in someone making a game from a concept like Skyrim Very Special Edition, but a serious and full-length one. Some kind of voice-controlled adventure game and/or RPG, using something like Alexa or Cortana or even just one's mic for the text controls. I know from a friend that Blood Typers somehow made Resident Evil work well with typing-based controls. Why not voice?

Regardless. Heal up well and soon from the carpal tunnel. I sometime worry I'd get one myself, and can imagine it'd be rough to deal with while one recovers.

EDIT: @Yousef, are you sure that sounds like a good idea...? Because if a certain gaming creepypasta told me anything?

Thanks!! That sounds like a good idea. I saw a video of someone doing something similar on steam with the newer games. So it is probably possible, and I bet others have found solutions that have had limited use of their hands as well.

Use Voice attack or something similar to play games that doesn't require too much input VN or Turn Based games
Hope you get well soon
Thank you!! Yeah, I’ve been looking for a Mac equivalent but I don’t know if there is one. Let me know if you find anything.

For example, something like this could be cool if I could find a way to set it up for Mac and/or emulated games.
