Do you watch other people play video games?
If so, what kind of format do you prefer?

I don't usually watch livestreams but I will watch people play games I like in episodic format sometimes, on Youtube.

Livestreams (Particularly, VTubers and other content creators that I enjoy) and non-commentated playthroughs (Particularly, NintendoComplete).

I just want a simple non commented playthrough hopefully played at a better than average level at least. With fighting games, I'm not happy if the video never or rarely uses a super or special move.
Sometimes I'll watch a TAS but not often since there are some things there that can't be replicated practically.

If it's a game I plan to play or currently playing, sometimes I want to watch something I can learn and get possible strategies I can incorporate in my own playthrough. Last playthrough I watched was how to get the good ending in Splatterhouse 3 at Game Master level which did help.

A translated video for a Japanese game that has no official or fan translation is always appreciated.

I watch a lot of Chuggaconroy. I still do from time to time.
I sometimes watch some livestreams (from vtubers and some that I think are interesting)

Other times I just watch other people play just get a basis from certain parts of a game that I am playing.

used to watch live or offline Twitch streams but now mostly YouTube.
when it comes to tournaments, only fighting games and some of top 8 matches after they finish

I only watch play throughs of short games, 1 hour max.

Nowadays I watch both LPs and episodes with no commentary mostly on yt, like I used to do before covid. 2020-2024 I've been more on twitch, but completely lost the interest once achieved some goals in regards of foreign lang improvement.

I find myself magnetizing towards Japanese Vtubers more and more for whatever reason theses days, Like Pekora or Fuwari Ch. I just can't get enough.

Let's Play, livestream, I don't care. If someone's enjoying a game, and it's a game I like (I rarely watch something I haven't played) and it's interesting how the person's responding to the game that's all I really care about.

Usually either LPs or Stream Uploads on Youtube, though I have a couple V-Tuber friends that I catch live and mod chat for too.

I used to be all about Super Best Friends Play before they disbanded. These days I mostly just follow Vinny and Joel, and every now and then Oneyplay's and Jerma.

Not sure if you know but Pat from Superbestfriends has a channel called: Patstaresat
he recently did a playrthough of RE2 while blindfolded & giving the controller to his wife who never played it before, so blind leading the blind. funny watch.

Yeah, I still follow them separately and listen to Castle Super Beast podcast, though I miss when they were all still together. I get it though, and I'm happy for them.

If I'm watching something commentary-free, it's usually for the music as background noise and so I'm not actively watching. When I worked at the mall I'd loop C64 longplays on the register PC and hear the music while I did my actual job.

I'd way rather have commentary that is more the player talking about whatever, than strictly talking about the game. Also prefer it to be off the cuff and not some script. Not that there isn't a place for highly focused and scripted content, because clearly there is, but I like it more when it's like hanging out and just BSing.

I watch Quake and half-life speedruns.
Also I like watching people play games on livestream and seeing their reactions to plot points and level design in real time.

Vinnie Vinesauce is my bread and butter, and also Jerma to an extent. I'm also subbed to a few v-tubers, namely Ironmouse, Saba (formerly "Gawr Gura") and Dokibird (formerly "Selen Tatsuki"), but I don't actively follow them as much as I should

Used to watch SuperBestFriends, until it ended, I never liked Matt so I don't watch his content at all, Woolie doesn't play anything I like/care about, and Pat does livestreams, I hate livestreams.

I watch Oneyplays sometimes (mostly for Zach), but its more for the banter than the gameplay (since more often than not, they suck at the game).

The only one I kinda watch consistently is SuperGreatFriend, since we have similar taste in games.

There are a few I don't really care about, since I often put LPs as background noise when I am doing something else.

I do watch a lot of board game playthroughs, since I am a visual learner so its easier for me to learn rules that way, and to see the components and flow of games I am interested in ordering.

I prefer edited content which respects your time.

Matt still kind of carries that "arrogant douchebag" persona, which I guess works well for him? (still mad about his apparent dislike of the Sega Genesis/Mega-Drive, though part of me releases that it's an act/him being funny) He's also actively contributing to helping OSW getting better quality videos out the door, which I'm legit grateful for

IDK, still kind of upset about SBF breaking up, but I am at the very least happy that all of them have been fairly successful beyond it (though I have no idea if Liam is doing much of anything beyond random guess spots)

Nope, not my thing, only exception is ManlyBadassHero since he often play indie titles that I wouldn't even know exist if I don't watch him play.

I do watch from time to time. I prefer no commentary usually but I think LPs by devs are interesting to watch. I also turn to them when a written guide is far too vague and cryptic to understand. And for games I know I'll never get to play.

Max_Dood, TheNiskelLP & UDJ, Chip&Ironicus, PatStaresAt, and WoolieVs.

I had forgotten it, but you can watch me play:
Just Quake though.
