voice acting that's so bad its iconic

Damn, bad voice acting is sometimes so bad it's hilarious, but now I only can remember spanish dubs.

It's a pity non spanish people can't appreciate the magnifficient quality of Resident Evil 4 dub. At times I couldn't even play straight due to the voices and sentences townsfolk were saying. In the Remake isn't as funny, so pity :(

here's the example of bad voice acting in the game, since the video itself is very long.
I actually played A LOT of this one because of I saw a clip of that intro. I need to get around to finishing it. It's an extremely weird game and worth checking out for some cheesy scares if you're looking for something Stupid and Spooky.

Sometimes even poor voice acting is enough to get me interested.

The craziest thing about the Yakuza 1 dub is that it had Mark Hamill playing Majima???????????????

Which is like??? a perfect choice for Majima??? but they also tried waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too hard punching up the script to make it edgier that it ruins it

Mark Hamill also does not remember even doing the dub, which is also pretty funny.

It did give us the classic "TEN YEARS IN THE JOINT MADE YOU A FUCKING PUSSY" though

Yeah, this happens quite often with very busy voice actors. It's hard to remember a game you worked on long time ago for like a couple of weeks maybe even less. I bet everything was recorded in one take.
"TEN YEARS IN THE JOINT MADE YOU A FUCKING PUSSY"
My favorite phrase from the game for sure. :loldog

Persona 2: Eternal Punishment has incredibly stiff and poor voice acting in English, some of the voice actors simply don't fit the characters (especially Tatsuya Suou and Maya Amano), this ends up ruining some of the game's dramatic and emotional scenes, A good example is at the very end of the game when you confront the game's main villain Nyarlathotep (which I won't go into too much detail because of spoilers, I'll just send the clip of the scene itself), there is some good voice acting in this game, for example the voice acting of Ulala and Nyarlathotep is very good, Ulala was voiced by Amanda Winn Lee, the same voice actress as Rei Ayanami from Neon Genesis Evangelion and Yukiko Amagi from Persona 4.

But honestly, I find the voice acting of Tatsuya Sudou (one of the villains from the Persona 2 duology) simply hilarious, the guy sounds like a cartoon character, which unironically fits his crazy, unhinged personality.

Everyones got the classics like Mega Man X4 and Mega Man 8 and Robot Alchemic Drive (that one is one of very best)

But maybe the KING of bad voice acting is still Chaos Wars
I played maybe 70% of this whole damn game just to see it. Did you know there's branching paths and some characters are exclusive to them? Or that it's a giant crossover game of really low budget Japanese RPGs and VNs for the most part? Or that it's basically Bad Disgaea?

I even own a copy of it now. I spent $12 entire dollars on it.
Was thinking of Chaos Wars when I saw the title, given how it sounds like it was voiced by random people they picked up off the street. Glad other people know about it.

The voice acting from GTA London 1969/1961 is certainly something else, to say the least:

On another note, those cutscenes feel quite unsettling when compared to the ones from later GTA games.
The first GTA had not only better and more expressive voice acting but even had some ambience sounds playing here and there in its cutscenes.
But GTA London? Just pure silence coupled with gloomy environments and characters all speaking in a monotone tone.

I dont particuarly care about the dub, since it's inferior to the original audio, but when one of the thugs said "HEY BEEITCH" I lol'd

the entire english dub of Xenoblade Chronicles 2. that dub is still to this day the ONLY reason i beat that game AND why its still the only Xenoblade game that ive ever finished LMAO
People talk up Xenoblade Chronicles 2 like it's some masterpiece and it always bewilders me because it's impossible to take seriously when the main character talks the entire way through with a tone like he's hosting a show for preschoolers that teaches the importance about how sharing and being nice to their friends.

Xenoblade 2 actually IS great tho, to be fair to the game as a whole.
It just largely defiled by absolutely garbage localization and voice acting thanks to Shitendo Shithouse, much like Arc Rise Fantasia that I mentioned before. It affected Xenoblade 2 much, much more because a lot of Takahashi's Xeno series are about mature symbolisms and reference which are erased and replaces by defections memes and grade schooler jokes that don't fit the comedically anime yet gradually darkening atmosphere.

It's surprising to me that it ended up like that. The dubbing studio they used usually knocks it out the park every time.

I'm assuming they just wanted the game out the same year the Switch launched and rushed whatever they could.

Silent hill has some of the funniest voice acting i heard Kauffman aims his gun at Harry and harry goes in the most chill tone ever "don't shoot" like BROTHER he is aiming a gun i would scream top of my lungs if that happened other than this first time meeting cybil she sounded so strange that i thought she was a monster in disguise.

Other than these 2 instances i didnt find the voice acting bad lisa and dalia had a good VA work.

Oh and RE2 with the HEY I'M A COP and the intro with Leon telling Claire to "buckle up" "ok" said very chill way like you weren't just shooting zombies prior to this right?

Games with very noteworthy good voice acting has to be WarCraft 2

I came here to shout out Silent Hill 2. It has some really weird deliveries, but I can't really knock it because it wouldn't be the same game without it. The odd dialog adds to the atmosphere and the charm, so I guess you could say it's "iconic."
