I was just thinking about this...

Mario is a nobody who stomps on wildlife, kicks the crap outta turtles, gets fish out of the water and destroys plants and flowers for the lulz.

He's also guilty of breaking into castles and assaulting the owner.

Sonic frequently breaks into private property and destroys machinery while being the most recognizable face of an outlawed group (and you know courts would 100% side with Robotnik on the matter).

What other characters can you think of?

Bowser is a prison candidate.

Not necessarily considering what happened Robotnik's grandfather and cousin. Also, the government clearly doesn't like him, and vice versa. Especially GUN. Eggman is the one making things worse for everyone? And he only cares about himself, and will happily stump on the few people, even supporting him. Either out of amusement or to please his own ego.

Caleb from Blood. Any main protagonist from the GTA series.

I think it would probably be easier to list video game characters that wouldn't go to jail. You might as well just say the majority of them would probably be in jail.

Yeah sure the courts will have no choice but to side with him, don't forget on what he did at SA1 and SA2. I don't believe sonic breaks into private property and demolish government machinery so im guessing you're talking about shadow aka FAKER! now he'll do much worse vs what you think about sonic.

I like how Guybrush Threepwood is about the only graphic adventure protagonist to HAVE gone to jail for his misdeeds xD

Honestly, the Duke isn't the best example because canonically he seems to get enthusiastic consent..

I would say every RPG protagonist ever! For starters, they burglarize random people's homes and steal everything that isn't bolted down..
In breath of fire 1 made it canon, lol

She deserves way worse than just some Jailtime honestly

Ironically, most RPG heroes, you know, thievery, home invasion, local species endangerment, regicide (Law won't care he was a king of demons, you still started a coup in foreign lands) and when aviable, illegal gambling

Nathan Drake murders literally thousands of people in broad daylight and isn't even phased - He even drops a couple of wisecracks after each bloodbath.

The guy's a deranged psychopath. What a menace.

I don't know about jail, but I'm pretty sure Pac-Man and the ghosts are in Hell. I just haven't worked out who's being punished and who's doing the tormenting.
