I've been seeing a lot of people having issues with certain things mostly in the Android version.

1.) I just wanted to tell everyone firstly to double check your Android Permissions.
Now a days the updated Android version doesn't allow you to just go into your system files and edit/access them. So if you are having an issue file wise, This is an important bulletin point to remember when using DuckStation.

2.) Also remember, it is better to have no items in your Android/Downloads folder.
But if you for some reason have to have them in there,
just make a new folder inside or outside of the Downloads folder. (Because again, Androids picky about letting you set any destination folder to its own Downloads.)
I should clarify that games in a folder in the Downloads folder will work.
For ex
ample... Android/Downloads/sample_folder_name/ will work, but in most cases for Android users, avoid leaving files in the Android/Downloads folder.

That alone may solve some issues you may be experiencing.

I just wanted to let the community know if you are new to Android or not sure why some issues cannot be bypassed. Now if you go through the process of ROOTING your phone then, and only then will you be able to access important system files.

This post was mostly a heads up for individuals with system file access issues or with transferring saves and trying to access the DuckStation android system folder for files.

Good Luck and Good Gaming RGT Community!

I leave my "Downloads" folder littered with memes....

I don't even use Duckstation, but thanks for the reminder. I'll tidy up a bit lol

Unrelated but there's a DuckStation build for PC that has rollback, so it's great to play Tekken 3.

That's great, you can try Duckstation though. It has quite a lot of improvement
Can you elaborate on the improvements over ePSXe*? Also, how is it compared to Retroarch? I really want to uninstall Retroarch and start using separate emulators on my phone

(Wrote PCSX earlier, wrong emulator lol)

There's a lot of updates over the years but you can check it here

The difference between RetroArch is that you wouldn't change the core over and over, but it was also updated much recently (like the link I gave you)

Gamma is my main until ducky comes to the App Store

Hooo, thanks for the link! I'll check it out. Retroarch feels really heavy for no reason (like the UI, the settings, etc). If Duckstation is more or less as simple as PPSSPP, or at least simpler than RetroArch, I'm 100% moving there lol

If it's not too much, can you also mention what Saturn emulator you're using?

As of now I'm using Bizhawk, it's like RetroArch but easier because it's built for Windows

It depends though because Saturn is a really complicated console so it won't be as complete and still is buggy, even the best ones (for example link)

-Mednafen: can run with a command line link
-Nova: user friendly, fast, compatible, trying to be as accurate link
-Yabasanshiro 2: a promising one but still has it's own issues link
-Kronos: fork of Yabause, much more updated

Thank you very much for the detailed reply! Nova sounds nice, but I'll check all of them before deciding. I hope there's one good and simple enough for both Windows and Android

And sorry ThatsNotRich for the OOT replies ^^^^

You're welcome and no worries about that, it's still emulator related stuff

I hope you can find what's good for you, good luck!
