Only Americans, people lived in a country other than America at the time that actually cared about showing about MJ in their news channel back then and non-American die-hard fans knows about what kind of "crime" MJ was involved to, yet he was famous way before these shit and he is still famous because of his popular songs alone but the article tries to make it seem like MJ wouldn't be known without these "crime" situations and his fame would fade away without these "infamous" shit about him SMH.

The tabloids were to blame. Every week it was Wacko Jacko this or that. Wacko Jacko and Liz Taylor. It went on for years. That's all people thought about. I think a lot of his music ended up being ignored by anyone who wasn't a die hard fan due to that. Then when the allegations surfaced it switched to that and was non-stop. In America these tabloids were at the check out counter in grocery stores. So you would see them when you waited in line. Yet people just kept buying and buying more magazines to read the same rehashed articles with "Shocking new makeup free photos" everyone had already seen 20 times.
