The main thing I hate about current Unreal is that it's getting a bit too mainstream and becoming a industry standard. While Epic aren't much interested in the optimization of it. Threat Interactive is a good watch on youtube.

ikr them devs just love that grease, 4 out of 5 games I tried recently were unreal and the other 1 both looked and played better. except maybe high on life, guess you can just double down on grease and make it your whole thing, then it kinda works.

Unreal has the most "Out of the Box" built-ins of any engine. It seems like a lot of developers just don't look at their render pipeline because they think that's just how it looks (or don't care). On a practical level this means less granular control over how a game looks by default. After working on some projects that were made in Unreal, I now shudder when I see a default Unreal effect in a game.

There are a couple of different Randy's, I was refering specifically to Randy Pitchford, CEO of Gearbox, and also the lube of a gearbox, however, Randy Bobandy from Trailler Park Boys is acceptable.
