How come I've never heard of it up until now? 
Underhell is a fantastic FPS action-horror mod based on the Source Engine that is really pushing it to the limits both creatively and technically. All the time while playing it I've asked myself, "How is this an indie game?" and "How is this free?!".
Unfortunately, the game was and never will be finished, because the lead developer recently committed suicide due to long struggle with mental illness...
But what is there absolutely feels like a full game and more than expected for a project like this.
The guy was obviously very talented and very passionate about video games. He left an unfinished masterpiece behind him.
If you never played it until now, please do play it. You will not regret it. It deserves more recognition. Again, it's completely free.
