Ubigreed actually would have to pay me for getting that Crime against Gaming
Ya know, ACS could have been the AC game a lot of us had been waiting for.
From day one with the first game, I was like "Oh! This will be the most badass ninja game ever when they finally set it in Japan" Well, maybe in an alternate timeline, I guess.

Ubigreed is really allergic to success and Money it seems,a Assasins Game set in Japan should have been a Match made in heaven but no they somehow messed that up.

It absolutely should have been, and I'm not going to get into the politics or anything like that. No one else should either. Do that via DM or something. But they really screwed the pooch, as they say on this game.

How long do ya all think Ubigreed is gonna last before all there sponsors run off and there money runs dry,at that point its only a matter of time,I give it 2 years at max it this continues.
Well, they were kind of betting the pervervial bank on Shadows. And well, that game was on discount, I think, three days after launch. I don't know if the company will go under, but I almost bet it will be sold off to another owner. Hopefully, the guys who made Stellar Blade acquire at least the AC IP. Wouldn't that be a nice middle finger to the AC team and Ubi?

Oh the Irony, that would be Hilarious and than force them to create a similar game they would explode from anger ;)

I hope it takes less than 2 years but we know voting with our wallet doesn't work and is too slow for effect, most we can hope is more expensive games that tank. More likely the layoffs will come before winter and they'll hang on to their last studio with the CEO leaving with his golden parachute as the building burns down as they scramble how to make a winter release to float on til spring.

Ubisoft couldn't compete with Ghost of Tsushima and Rise of the Ronin. I say that as someone who actually enjoyed Origins and Odyssey. Those are the last Ubisoft games that I had a good time with -- though they were filled with the Ubisoft open world bloat that we've come to expect.

I actually liked Odyssey. Let's say I got it through other means of acquisition. I almost bought it until I saw the massive amounts of DLC for it and the basically login-based gotcha store they had in game.
I passed on it, got rid of it, and went back to playing Zelda 2: AoL.

Honestly this is how paying for a product always was but they just made it obvious.

The owner of the product is always the company that legally owns the product by having legal right over it.
No this is not how things always were. Not sure where this idea came from but you absolutely used to own the things you purchased in the past. The idea that some corporation could dictate how you use something you purchased used to be some laughable dystopian science fiction idea.

Ubisoft games already feel like they're developed by AI so I'm not sure that'll have that much of an impact on the quality of their games. Almost all of their games follow the Assassin's Creed open world model. They'll just train an AI to build games exactly like that, something their developers have been doing for nearly 20 years now.
As a corparate spy who spied on Ubisoft for decades I can tell yes dialogues were mostly written by AIs since like AC Origins and for example most of the programming in AC Shadow done by AIs but they locked one poor guy into a room to fix character movement logic in programming that AI wrote, that's why they had to delay the game for half a year lol. It means for every task AI does there are 1 human to check of AI does the intended work. But they plan to remove these hoomans too and make AI supervise AIs too lol.

As for why Ubisoft announced they can make you stop games now anytime they want, for example they saw lots of people played The Crew 1 instead of The Crew 2, that's why to make people buy Crew 2 they terminated Crew 1 and now they have Crew 3 that they wanna do the same to Crew 2. Ubisoft plans to even do the same thing for offline games like AC Shadows. Thus they can release same game in different skin and thus you won't ignore buying a new game just because you still enjoy playing AC4 or some old Ubisoft game lol. IDK if it would be leak but after AC4 Remastered released Ubisoft will delete original AC4 from your account but it's not still clear if Ubisoft wanna release a remake that has like 99% content cut just to sell rest of the game seperately like selling side content one by one as a DLC. If you guys had knew what I know due to my corparate spy experiences you would realize the background of video game industry is a mindless mess that they have no idea what to do but they are pushing to the limit of greed further and further. Agent 666 is out lol.

Honestly what next? They'll install rootkit tools to the DMCA that connect to their servers and destroy your copy when you reconnect to the internet as soon as it gets the message?
May be in the works... I remember how there were talks about tracks being removed from the GTA games because licenses for those songs had ran out (even though that sounds illegal AF to do). I also know that the TrackMania people removed split-screen, local multiplayer after the fact for... reasons? You can't give the games industry an inch of good will.

Oh yeah. I saw that on an episode of Ross's Game Dungeon. He thought he was going crazy but had proof he wasn't (for once). I love that guy.

And no, you absolutely can't not when money's involved. They'll squeeze their way out of a dime. I can see removing the tracks from new versions of the game or re-releases. I mean, Crazy Taxi had to do with the Offspring stuff. That makes sense.

Uuuuuugh! Why can't they leave us alone? We gave them the money, what else do they want?

Also: UbiSoft absolutely botched Lunar: Dragon Song in order for it to be the first RPG on the Nintendo DS.

Zero fucks given.
