So I made this post asking for games like oblivion to play on my potato laptop (thanks a lot for those that replied!) and I got curious. I wondered if my laptop could actually handle the games (Skyrim/oblivion), so I picked Skyrim and surprise surprise, it actually works! In the very very low specs of the game, of course.

It runs fast, with a little hiccups here and there but is good enough for me.

So I started to play it :D I know absolutely nothing about the story, the game or factions. I'm completely heading blind, and just going with the flow tbh, and I like it!

I'm currently in witherun, proudly level 3, doing some side quests as a khajit and collecting stuff to sell like a rat DJSKKSKA like, I ain't completely a thief, but I loot a lot and like to kill bandits and take stuff here and there :] I think I'll play vanilla for my first run and then maybe fall into the rabbit hole of modding who knows

Oh I also got Morrowind! I played it less due to the fact that I didn't knew to save and I kept dying in embarrassing ways, so I'll try again with that too!

I love khajits a lot, they're so cute and silly

I'm happy for you! I tried it and it's not my kind of game, but I can see the appeal of it, especially when I see others playing.

a man in a video game is saying you 're finally awake

Happy for you mate, good to see someone play it for the first time and feel the Wow-facture of the game. Hope you have an awesome adventure adventurer. May the roads lead to warm sands.

Glad to see more people picking up interest in this amazing game, sure it's full of Bethesda jank but it's damn enjoyable.

If you start modding, ooh boy, you're in for a lot of weird stuff!

enjoy, do whatever; use all of your tools at your disposal, read books, talk to NPCs, explore that river, go through that cave, let your feeling of curiosity drive you. Oh and avoid fast travel if possible, use carts to travel to cities.

nothing else can match the feeling of an elder scrolls

And I toootally agree with moonbits: this is the O-N-L-Y way to really enjoy this kind of games... 🙂

Hope you enjoy the game! It's really fun if you add in some mods to spice up your adventure but you do you if you want. Have fun!

That's nice to hear, have fun. Skyrim is one of the best games ever.

I have two monitors on my PC, a huge guilty pleasure of mine is tuning out and dungeon crawling in Skyrim while bingeing Netflix on my other monitor ::raymanknows

I'm so happy to hear!
Oh, this game has a system called radiant quests. Basically it will create random quests for as long as you feel like playing them.
Have fun!

Look at him! Look (respectfully) at the catboy!
And it seems to run nicely. Not many slowdowns, I hope?

Oh no! I disrespected the pretty catgirl! Shame on me! ::dkfacepalm
I'm very glad it is working nicely. Welcome to Tamriel!

@ sunflower64 - Well, mate, in all honesty, gotta say that I liked (and still prefer) Oblivion much more than Skyrim because of the atmosphere which was way more magical (but Skyrim is great anyway)
You know, using mods could enrich, but at the same time distort the original gaming experience...
Therefore, the advice I've always given to everyone since ancient times (given that I'm a dinosaur ) is just to play and finish the game as it is, AND THEN continue to have fun with mods, cheats and all that stuff. :->
