Thank god for ai. otherwise we'd be waiting who knows how many years for human slop translations that would need to be updated due to bugs/errors and 1.1 updates etc

Also love the fact he released the tools. something we rarely get with human translations because everything is kept private. so someone else can probably translate this to thier language if they know how to use said tools

I think we're heading into a renaissance period for AI translations. I believe the annoyance over it being AI will be drowned out by the fact that virtually every game will become playable in virtually every language. I think even big critics of AI will end up partaking, and possibly not even realizing.

Well, it can also encourage people to take those AI translations and correct them with the proper wording and also add in the missing humour and other nuances. It's been done before, so it will just encourage more of that to happen and help with a bulk amount of the work. However, it's the ROM hackers that we really need most; those are the guys who break the game to insert menus and other text translations that cannot be inserted through basic text patch insertion. Some games are just really tough to hack when it comes down to it. Look at Segagaga as one example. Many attempted and gave up on it until it came down to using AI to break it.
