Haven't these things always been a thing? I remember plenty of stuff back in the DVD days where they'd name it something close enough, get the logo close enough without infringement, just because people who didn't know better would pick it up think they're getting the actual movie.
These days it's probably even easier and more profitable since you can just stick them on streaming services. All it takes is a few kids or parents or whoever clicking around, watching a few ads during the runtime, and you've probably recouped the costs and then some. AI will probably make it even worse, as seen on Youtube if you try searching for stuff.
