Total Eclipse Turbo (PSX) ROM always freezes

So this is one of my favorite games from my childhood, and I've gotten the ROM from a few different places over the last few months, but it always seems to freeze during the underground/tunnel sequences. I'd really like to be able to complete this game, does anyone have any suggestions? I'm using Duckstation, can provide further details if needed. Really appreciate any help/advice/suggestions.

Which version... JP - EU - US?
I tried the US version on my DuckStation (android): if you mean the tunnels between a stage and another, well it worked fine to me (Aqueous Major level)

Anyway, did you try it on Retroarch too?

I'm using default settings with Duckstation, some games freeze or react differently with such settings like overclocking, pgxp geometry correction, fmv chroma smoothing, etc.

Yes, it seems to work fine on Retroarch.

I did ask you about the version because I own the EU, but like I told you in the beginning, I tested the US and both work fine to me on DuckStation. Anyway, some games run better on RA, that's why I suggested to try it.
