Have you ever imagined a Tomb Raider with 2D gameplay? Probably yes, because they made mobile and handheld games in the past.

But have you ever imagined the first Tomb Raider reimagined as a 2D (or 2.5D) platformer? That's where Tomb Raider: Side-Scroller Edition comes in. A TRLE created by Delca and Trxye (both worked on the remasters of the classic Tomb Raider games) that recreates the entire original experience in a completely new way.

The game has some limitations due to being made with an engine designed for 3D Tomb Raider, such as Lara walking forward by pressing up, but it's the kind of thing you get used to.

Well, "Assassin's Creed" has been made in 2.5d (Chronicles trilogy) and I thought it was cool, in fact I played it on vita day-one, so why not for Lara Croft?

Well we had some ones for Lara Croft like the 2 GBC games or the DS port of Underworld but is nice to see one made specifically for the first game.

Oh, I don't know them, I've only played "TR2" on pc (my first game ever) and "Chronicles" the year after, then for various reasons I never played Tomb Raider again.
I'm going to explore repo for finding out more about the titles you mention.

Also if you want a isometric Tomb Raider game you have Prophecy for the GBA if you wanted to know.

In addition to those mentioned by @Archienine, there are also some (at least 1) mobile games for Java that can be easily emulated nowadays.

I downloaded some from Dedomil, but I don't know how reliable the site is.
I used to download from Phoneky but the constant redirections to other site made it very hard to download something.
I wish that the Repo had a section for Java games...

I wasn't familiar with this other one.

Regarding Repo, who knows, maybe one day it will include those games as well?

According to Waffles, the inclusion of Java games to the Repo is pretty much possible but we have to wait to see if Spike want to include them some day.

At least there's hope; I think it would be an incredible addition.
