So I was thinking the other day, could the TG-16 have had a decent port of TMNT the arcade game? The nes had one. With all the ports and demakes being done nowadays would be there be interest to do it?

I would be happy to just see the NES version with TurboGrafx-16 graphics.

Back in the day? ABSOLUTELY NOT IMO. The early console port scene ESPECIALLY with the TG16 is kinda notorious for having an extremely spotty track record and fucking up seemingly impossible to fuck up ports. If they couldn't manage to do Ninja Gaiden justice then I doubt they would've done this game much better either, but who knows considering the amazing ports the Gradius series got.

Nowadays though? I'd say absolutely so! People are always looking to do accurate seemingly impossible ports, and I feel this game getting a port to ANY 16-bit system is p much a given at this point!

Ninja Gaiden on the PC Engine was fine tho.

Turbografx had a spectacular version of Street Fighter 2.

So I think it could have had a very good port of TMNT.

Konami had the rights to TMNT back in the day so I imagine any TMNT game produced would have been great given the quality of their other titles on the system.

I loved Konami's approach to ports back then. They couldn't perfectly convert the two arcade games to console in terms of graphics and audio (although they certainly got close with Turtles in Time), so they made up for it with new bosses, levels, and making use of the system's capabilities (Mode 7). Plus, the improved controls and difficulty balancing were nice too. In every way that counts (content and gameplay) the ports were superior to the arcade games.

God, Konami was awesome in the 90s

I wish we could get a remaster of the NES game with restored graphics and audio from the arcade game. I wouldn't mind the same treatment for Turtles IV on the SNES, though that game looks and sounds great as it is.
