tips for going into highschool📚

Interesting…
All I can say is that discipline is really important for anyone trying to become better in any school. If you respect everyone around you (even though some won't be as respectful to you), I think you're good to go

If you mean thriving as in knowledge specifically, then try to learn the easy chapters first. If those doesn't help then try using YouTube

And don't forget your cardio! If you can't do something like bumping or pushups, then try the core exercise that are easy but will still give you benefits. Don't push yourself too hard though and I wish you the best man::bigboss

I went to high school for 2 weeks and was too stressed out i went back to home-schooling, then got my GED at 16. So this is general advice.

I suppose, the biggest thing is to avoid drama, in relationships and overall.
Don't be afraid to fight back if pushed/confronted; If you don't resist or defend yourself you are far more likely to become a bullying target instead.
Keep your dick in your pants (or if you're a girl, don't sleep around). Don't accept ultimatums. STD's and Pregnancy isn't worth it.
If anything is world shattering and you get super depressed, remember it will pass. Have friends you can trust. Hopefully your parents too.
Set a schedule for when you sleep/wakeup. It will be easier to get proper rest if you have a rhythm.
Try to incorporate exercise to your daily routine. Walk/jog to school. Wakeup and do 20-30 pushups/situps. At first you may get sore, push through it. After 1-2 weeks it will go away and you'll be able to increase it. ;) Your welcome.
Try not to eat junk or pre-processed food. You might have to learn to cook.
While you should study, make some personal time for yourself to have some fun too.

Physical fitness and personal hygiene are key I would say, other than that? Join a sports club or something along those lines so you can make friends through a shared hobby. The best thing you can do for yourself at an early age is learn how important physical fitness is, if you aren't already lifting weights or exercising, you should be. It might sound silly but it's the fastest way to learn self discipline, and that's really important for success. Don't be globglogabgalab.

Best advice I can give you is don't take sides on other people's battles / don't join a fight if you don't gain anything by winning. Mostly avoid drama, focus on your studies and try to find something that interests you -- join a fun club (or not). As long as you aren't dreading waking up each day, I'd say you are doing good.

for the push up thing I'm cooked (I can barely do 5💀💀💀)

If you can't do pushups, do planks. They work your body's core and helps strengthen the same muscles that pushups would. There's app out there, like "Plank Workout" that can guide you through a series of plank exercises.

but thanks you all for the tips and info, I still have finnish 8 grade but I'll end it off with a bang...

Maybe I should not say "end it off with a bang", "yay" is better. I'll end it off with a yay

Do you have a disability or are broken in some way? If you have a bad back or shoulder then you might lift weights instead (weights can just be a 16-64oz can of beans for a number of reps as you can reasonably handle).

Maybe 20-30 is a bad starting point. I was in the military, so 20-30 is very easy to do after being in 2 years; Start with a few, if you can barely do 5, then target 5. If you can't do 5, then do what you can, wait an hour, then finish them. The idea is you'll see improvement over time.

There's tons of exercises I've totally forgotten about since Basic Training. So yeah i'll agree, something else that you are able to do.

Just make sure you graduate, a highschool diploma allows you access to more job opportunities than not having one and makes you a higher priority pick if your employers choice is between you with a diploma and some poor sap who doesn't have one. It's a +1 in the job market basically. This is under the assumption you both have similar or identical experience. I graduated in 2017 and they were just phasing in the chromebook based schooling as I was on my way out, I don't know how it is now but it couldn't be any worse than my middle school.

I don't know dude, maybe try asking on some other site where the average user is a bit younger.
Yeah, going to Side with @Sayo here. I Would imagine alot of us have been out of School long enough that the General Rules have changed.
Myself when i was in HS, there wasn't any of the PC Stuff there is now <political Correctness>
Bullying and name calling where a thing. Fights where eh just a Everyday Occurrence. and not like the Cheesy Geek in the locker thing, but i did see a few kid's lose Teeth ect.

Wasn't a thing. So yeah i Don't know myself how HS is now.
I wish you the best of Luck

*Edit* Don't take that as how it is now, this is well over 20 years ago kid-o
If anything, Be friendly, Helpful. Don't Start a fight, but don't be a Rug either <don't let others walk on you> Avoid people you see, that you can tell are just going to be Trouble .
People Watch, not in a Creepy way, so you can figure out who is going to be Trouble, and Avoid them

I think they are right by asking us, since we all have had the experience and are enough removed from it to judge it fairly, no embellishments nor scars. That's just my opinion, though.

I'd second this ::dkapproves
Can't guarantee that other sites will even help or even respond quickly, even in something like Quora

Here's my advice:
  • Don't go along with the crowd's stupidity. Don't use TikTok or other social media that harvests your info and gives it to malicious actors/governments. Everyone around you is in for a rough wakeup call when that pot produces steam.
  • Don't get into fights. You aren't a little kid anymore; you can get seriously injured by people bigger than you, and you can get expelled. Get help from admins first, then get legal help if that's not enough. Standing up to bullies is important, but you need to be smart about it or they will hit harder.
  • Avoid tobacco, weed, vape, alcohol, and unprotected sex. They will seem like fun until the consequences settle in. You're probably still developing, so the consequences will be worse than they will be later on in life.
  • Exercise and walk more. If your school has a work-out gym, go at least once a week, five times a week if possible. Leg day, contrary to popular belief, can be skipped if you do enough walking. But don't skip that.
  • Save money. The economy is on the cusp of something bad, to put it lightly. Your expendable income will look like infinite money until you realize how much you need for important stuff, especially once high school is over.
  • Don't stress school work too much, but put an effort in anyways. You've got it better than previous generations with computers making it easier to get everything done much faster than usual. Find a place in the school you like to go (gym, library, maker lab, senior lounge eventually) and try to finish your work efficiently so you can get permission to go there during other class periods. (High school is permissive like that to good students.) That way, doing work has an immediate reward that motivates you to complete it.
  • Join a club that fits both your interests and your post-graduation goals. Network with similar students. Use that to help you apply for college.
  • Don't stress any interpersonal stuff. In 4 years it's possible you won't see 90% of these people, if you even see more than 1%. That's near-guaranteed if you live in a decent-sized city or move to one. Whatever reputation you have now will be a fading memory after school's over.
  • Find an interest that has a future. Read up on college/university majors and find one you want to practice. Take elective classes in high school to experiment with them.
  • Get romantically involved with someone if you want, but remember that romance is fickle at this point in life. If it doesn't work out, don't let it get in the way of moving on, as it's probably not as deep and meaningful as you think it is. Again, this is a purgatory point in life before adulthood. College romance, both for better and for worse, will make high school romance look like practice mode by comparison.
  • Read more. Pay attention to news that is written, not provided by malicious influencers and 24/7 propaganda channels. Adult life isn't going to make as much sense if you don't understand what's going on, and now's the time to start paying attention.

I'm not good at giving advice but I graduated high school in 2010, I miss it a lot. School is one of the best times of your life and you may not think that but do not let it go to waste.

chill out and take it easy. dont worry about dating or whatever, that'll come with time. hang out with friends but don't tie yourself to them; dont be afraid to do your own thing. try your best to give people grace. you're gonna meet some really annoying people, and you're just going to have to learn to smile and ignore them, but dont put yourself above or below them. join clubs and get involved, but be honest with yourself if you're not having fun and quit if its not working out. also dont worry about it applying to your eventual major or not; most colleges just want to make sure you got out of the house and talked to people. it shows motivation and group skills and that's really what they care about.
work hard in high school so you can get into a decent college or similar program. then you can goof off and chase your dreams with grad school or the workforce.
most importantly: give yourself grace. you make a huge mistake? okay, no biggie. it will hurt, but you can and absolutely will recover. high school is really not that big of a deal, and in the long run, is just a footnote. like most people here, we can all barely remember any of high school.
edit: all the work-out stuff is kinda ridiculous. if you have like minor sports teams/club sports try that out, but otherwise, just do the basics: go outside, breath in some fresh air, eat fruits and veggies. unless you're really in a bad spot or you just like going to the gym, you are wayyy too young to worry about lifting or running. have fun with atheletics first and foremost.

-Find your crew. Join clubs and gatherings and try to find one or more friend circles where you can be yourself.
-Don't look for trouble. Avoid drama and petty bullshit especially if you have nothing to gain from it. It could get you hurt and generally isn't good for your mental health anyway. If you do get into trouble accidently, having a good friend group in your corner helps a lot.
-Consider people's opinions about you, but not TOO much. If you just strut around like "fuck everybody here" you'll look like a dickhead and miss when people have legitimate criticism, even if said criticism isn't delivered in the most constructive way. Just don't get TOO caught up in everyone else's opinions, especially from crowds you don't respect, and don't let anyone pressure you into something you know is a bad idea or that you aren't ready for yet. You'll get better at taking this one case by case overtime.
-Don't get too hung up on trying to be the best at everything. You should get good grades and participate in extracarriculars if you can, but you aren't gonna become a homeless drug addict because you got a C here and there or didn't become the best basketball player.
-Have fun. High school sucks ass in some ways, but it doesn't have to all the time. Do cool stuff in free time blocks if you get them, like playing mobile games with the bros during lunch. Just be careful about breaking rules. It's one thing to do silly shit like using a proxy to access a browser game site if you have an incompetent IT dept or a cool teacher, it's another to vandalize school property. Use common sense.
-All things in moderation. Study enough, play some, indulge in vices like junk food a little, eat healthy most of the time. It'll make your fun activities and indulgences more enjoyable when you aren't gorged on said things and your important shit is done.
-Be careful about bringing anything that might get stolen. Keep a close eye on any cool stuff you bring in for activities with friends like handhelds and trading cards. Even if the school allows them, that doesn't mean they'll be very good at helping you if they're stolen.
-If you do something embarrasing, don't sweat it. Learn from it. The odds of you doing something so immensely stupid that people's short attention spans care for more than a week is extremely low.
-Don't be too hard on yourself. You're gonna fuck up. A lot. It's part of learning. You're a good person that deserves good things. Remember that.

Maybe I'm too sensitive, but I'm starting to notice some bad disposition from a few people.
I don't know.
My only advice is kind of unfitting to the question in general, but if I could've changed the way I did things when I was in high-school age, is the time I spent wasting time, daydreaming about becoming an adult and doing the stuff I like. You can do the stuff you like right now. Find a hobby, an interest, something simple, atomic. And do that, get good at it; so that when you become an adult, you're not forcefully shoved into the slave workforce or into college without having been able to do the thing you like.
