Anthony Starr & Karl Urban are both brilliant leading men.

If you want to see more from the actor who portrays HomeLander, I highly recommend the show Banshee, in which he plays a jewel thief hiding out in the titular town of Banshee, assuming the role of a dead Sheriff dishing out vigilante justice.

Really liked season 1. Seasons 2 on ward, mileage varied. Show being edgy just to do it, with shoved in political takes. Too much God damn full frontal male nudity. Come on man wanted to at least see Firecracker you fuckers. Or Stormfront at least. But NO...

I'm pissed they never showed Homelander do a feat of strength. Not once. I don't mean killing people with his hands, doing a "super" feat.

Don't tell me they didn't have the budget. CW did a whole bunch of shit on thier shows. This is Amazon we're talking about. All those Prime memberships should have paid enough cash to be able to show Homelander wreaking Washington.

Show suffered also from bad writing.

They would never do this because then the character won't be the punching bag the writers (specially Kripke) wanted he do be. That's what made the show lose the steam over the seasons, they focused more on the modern politics of the US and making fun of only one side of it instead of bringing a good story

Really enjoyed Season 1 then it just got progressively worse. It really says something when you could skip from the end of season 3 right to the White House fight scene in this last one and nothing would've fundamentally changed really. Far too much filler. Far too much wheel spinning. Far too much wasted runtime for absolutely nothing.

One I'll highlight; it got far too carried away with the "jokes". Similar to Marvel with the whole "nothing can be taken seriously" shtick, but instead of sarcasm or "well THAT just happened!!" or whatever, it was pretty much all dick and ball and sex and poop jokes. Juvenile, stale and tiring when that's all it had to offer to try and "shock" the audience.

season 4 specifically was a complete waste of time. I'm glad i stopped at episode 4 because apparently the rest of the season was a shitshow
