thread to bring back χKai

In online spaces you gotta get used to people just kinda disappearing, it happens all the time and you'll rarely ever get a reason why. Life happens, things keep truckin along.

In any case I'll contribute to the summoning circle by throwing together a classic Megaman (Mega Man?) tier list. Up until last year I had only ever played the Legends duology and classic 1 and 2 via Wily Wars. I adored Legends and felt meh towards 1 and 2. Binged the classic series on a friend's recommendation though when the Legacy Collections went on PS+ Extra and had a blast! Order within tier matters.

I can't believe you put MM&B so low. Shame on you! /j

Seeing you and a couple others talk about it so fondly makes me wanna give it another go. Honestly the only MM game I outright disliked was MM1, the rest I see as good to excellent!

Just out of curiosity, but which version of the game did you play?

This fan translation!

I think on replay I'll enjoy it more since I couldn't decide who to play as for my first run and decided upon Megaman for the obvious reasons. I loved how Bass played in MM10 though so I am def choosing him on replay!

xkai and Gorse will be back... I have Faith on them.
Don't be discouraged, this is too soon to give up.

She dipped? I don't know I also be here off and on. I just forget to check my notifications every once in a while. Last week I had like 50 notifications cause I stopped using the site for like 2 3 days. It pissed me off having to go page to page and remembering which ones I didn't check yet lol.

Did you enjoy 1 and 2 more playing the normal versions compared to Wily Wars? I tried it once and it just felt off physics-wise compared to the NES games. I think they also ported/remade the NES games on PS1 in Japan. Putting 2 so low might seem controversial to some, though I can't necessarily disagree. It's very fun and has excellent music, but it's certainly not balanced. It's fun as hell using the Metal Blade on the majority of enemies and even several bosses because it's so strong, but it could be argued if that's great game design or not. Seems like they always had to put in some sort of near-useless weapon in those games, like the Lead Bubble and Time Stopper in 2 and Top Spin in 3.

As for people disappearing, that just happens. If they want to come back they will, and I'm sure they will once they aren't busy or preoccupied. In a way I kind of miss that disconnection with the old internet. There was no facebook or snapchat to know what people were doing, or Discord to know when they were online playing games, and it was before most people had cell phones. Some of my best friends in high school were ones I only had access to talking to on forums and AOL messenger, some of them I didn't know what they looked like or even sounded like. I once disappeared for a couple months and they feared something bad had happened, but we merely stopped having internet until I convinced my parents to pay for DSL internet instead of getting dial-up again. There's something to be said for being able to easily unplug and have your own space. Of course, on the flip side people could easily disappear without a trace, but it's not like that doesn't happen these days too.
