I'm not very wise. Maybe I'll do a review of Red Steel for the site at least.

Fair warning: Red Steel’s controls are very awful. Especially when you’re using the katana.

Yeah, my expectations are in the dirt, but sometimes it's funny to revisit the forgotten flops of yesterday (got Haze for $5 for example).

I bought a bunch of JP SNES games this way because they costed peanuts compared to the US/PAL versions, then had to bid war for an old Game Genie to get them to work. Half of them still booted with the "NAUGHT NAUGHTY DON'T PIRATE" messages and locked after one stage.

Happened to my friend Eric

the title of this thread makes me think of how i own a copy of parasite eve - i own it and have owned it for a while, but i have no idea how i acquired it

Well was it at least a steel?

The controls are pretty abominable yeah, but I loved Red Steel back in the day when I was a cringe teenager. You just can't beat that kind of ironic entertainment value. Red Steel, the Conduit and the two Resident Evil light gun games were probably my most played non-Nintendo Wii games, honestly.

I remember being really hyped for Conduit. Then my friend got it for his birthday and we played it together and were both like ehh.... I might play it in the future though, like you said there's some good fun in playing these kinds of games.

Red Steel is one of those games I remember trying to force myself to like as a teen. I really liked the FPS/Lightgun hybrid idea and desperately wanted it to be better then it actually was.

Now Red Steel 2 on the other hand, that game's an underrated gem.

I suppose this sort of thing happens to normal people who have jobs and live in a house.

If its a good game....hell yeah. Be honest though, I've bought tons of bad games sober so maybe

I don't remember buying Henry Hatsworth but here we are. It was surprisingly cheap for a hidden gem, like $25. The DS seems to have reasonable secondhand prices most of the time.

It wasn't a drunk purchase or anything but I did a late night purchase of a PS2 recently. I'd been mulling it over for a while so finally just did it.

Make sure to turn the volume on the Wii Remote down to zero to improve the controls. Yes, that's a thing. 🤦‍♂️
