I'll finish up my posting tonight with some of the finest eternally underrated Exodus, who really should be considered Big Four.

I might post some more but if I don't - I'll give Death AngeL a mention here too. n Destruction whoop'd ass this year but didn't go as hard as Warbringer. popular opinion but deserved... n Italian thrash band Game Over seem to be comin in to their own with their 2025

Underrated indeed. I personally think Exodus' Atrocity Exhibit A is the finest thrash metal album ever made.

Oops, forgot to contribute a song.

Hell yeah, I entirely agree. It's the perfect blend of angry, heavy and catchy. And that guitar tone is just a chef's kiss.

Time for a classic;

Does anyone else have real trouble with sub-genres?
Like I can identify Metal. But it feels like there are 47 KINDS of Metal, and I can't tell them apart.

Tbh , alot of those "subgenres" are more advertisement of bands instead of an own genre itsself .

Pirate-metal , mongolian-metal , black-atmospheric-steampunk-country-grindcore metal and alot more of these word-salad genres , are either music-stylistic combinations of metal and folk-instrument styles (folkmetal) or just bands in a thematic costumes that plays power-metal .

Overall the main-genres of metal is Heavy , Death , Black and Thrash . There is also doom metal , Power metal , Pagan metal and such but either these can be subjectivly seen as own Metal genres or Sub-genres of the main ones . But this is now more music-theory .

Grindcore , metalcore , Deathcore and such are on the Punk / Hardcore-punk genre . That is another can of worms that im not so knowledgable about but those have elements of the metal-genres but in its hardcore-punk spin .

I hope i could help out a bit . Alot is music-theory but interesting to look up and chaotic to put Bands/Songs into a genre .

The best is to have few friends to talk about it and let the theories go loose .

Another great clasic

Sodom is my favorite thrash band btw.

I've never been a big fan of Exodus, but I have to say that Exhibit A and B are awesome.
