Thoughts On Overwatch?

My thoughts on Overwatch
60 Seconds View GIF by Robot Gentleman

I never played the Game back then it felt overpriced for me especially for a Online only Shooter so I never bought it besides of that well the Characters are nice and just lets say there are more people knowing about the characters than about the actual Game ;)

I liked overwatch 1 alot at the beginning .

But later on they changed some characters drasticly and even entirely except their skins .

The lore of the game was sadly generic , very weak and didnt led to anything .
The updates and balance-patches were quite annoying after a while and always was tracer top-tier with her broken abilities while other characters (even my main torbjörn) got the short end of the stick .
Even the really hyperfixated focus what Gender , sexuality , nationality , disability , past and so on , actually ruined the fun for me because some characters that were actually cool became more and more a really bizarre caricature of the representation-olympics instead of simple and cool characters .

And while i played it 5 whole years , it became from a really cool online-hero-shooter into a meta-driven , always drasticly changing , ranking-focused and boring team-shooter with an creeping addiction to skins and lootboxes .

This game grossed me out from online-gaming entirely and showed how burned out and corrupted online-gaming have become .

Atleast the Overwatch-prons were temporarly interesting. ::smirk1

to me overwatch 1 is more fun than all of call of duty multiplayer its just have a aesthetic that i can't find in cod games

OW1 was fun with friends and by myself for like the 1st year and a half, but after Ash dropped I just lost interest. I didn't like the direction of the game and its balancing approach. Sombra I think was the first red flag because for a team based game she seemed very solo-based and forced your team to fight a 5v6 often. No wonder she's considered the worst hero to this day. I also really despised some of the new maps in terms of level design. Like that space level that has a zero gravity area but it away from the objective so it is completely pointless. What really bothered me most was how the lore of the game was retconned all the time. My main Lucio got retconned from the game's existence. I wish this game never went the comp route and just stuck with being fun and casual. Fortnite took the casual route and it managed to bounce back into the mainstream so maybe there's hope for OW2. I simply refuse to play OW2 because of how toxic the community has become in wanting to be more comp-like. (As is the fate for all games that go the comp route).

I should also note that during the time of OW1 I never stopped playing TF2. It's just that my friends would only exclusively play OW1 and I would usually join them.

I never had the hardware for it, but I found the trailers interesting. Competitive multiplayer probably isn't for me anyway, though.

I like it but I don't play it actively anymore. I personally enjoy OW2 more than how late OW1 felt. I love seeing my brother play it though, because he’s such a wiz at it, and sort of stay on top of the new changes through him.
Favorite heroes to play as are Dva, Orisa and Zenyatta.

I liked it up until they added the dumbass hero queue, and later the class lock. Seriously, not being able to pick who I want in any situation because I can only queue as one class bracket sucks. That first game was too fun. I liked playing as Roadhog and Zenyatta.

I only played for about a year and mained Lùcio. I got really good at blasting people off the edge on certain maps. Then yhe toxic messages and fanbase came around messaging me incessantly and telling me im playing the game wrong. So i quit...just like I did with LoL

My brother in Christ, Overwatch is one of the competitive games I’ve poured the most time into; over 2,000 hours of my life, to be exact. I even peaked Top 500, ranking #26 in Open Queue (North America) back in Season 7. The game is great, no doubt about that. But man, the 6v6 format was peak, and they truly fumbled the bag with the re-release.

Making it free-to-play only made things worse. The community isn't what it used to be back in OW1. Players today don't engage like they did before; it's like they’re allergic to voice chat. They play as if it were a single-player experience, and that lack of coordination just makes the game feel... dead.

Overwatch should have been the next big thing, instead it was sacrificed in a disastrous PR Move.

No Blizzard, I don't care if you allowed it onto steam. You promised a narrative campaign for each character, something that "wasn't possible" in OW1, But you gave us a $15 horde mode instead.
I'm never touching your franchise again.

Man I suck as Torbjörn.
I wish I was better at him because I think he’s cool, especially with that Magni skin as he’s one of my favorite WoW characters

Eh, I never cared for Overwatch. By the time it rolled around, I was long since burnt out on team-based FPS games. (Blame my brother, his friends, and Quake 3 Arena for that) I honestly just had a meh feeling about it when I saw it.

It didn't look fun, didn't look interesting and honestly, when I first saw it, the first thing that came to mind was "Oh... anime Quake... meh" That's more or less how I see any game like this...
just the same old shit with new skins.

(And let’s face it, we all know the only thing that kept Overwatch alive for the longest time was the hard work and dedication of the Rule34 fanbase. They unlike Blizzard Entertainment, cared more about the characters than well, the people making money off it, though for entirely different reasons.)

I started playing it recently. I passed on OW1 after playing the original beta because I was playing HotS at the time and felt OW1 was just a first person shooter version of the game with the same issues (either at the time or on the horizon).

I think it's alright. I'm not a fan of being forced to lose to maintain the around 50% winrate and can't do much about it because I solo queue. I just have to eat crushing losses and actually try in matches where there's a chance. No, I will not hear forced 50 being fake. My winrate from back in the open beta absolutely plummeted from 82% with several loss streaks I couldn't influence and now seems to ping pong around that 50% range.

Support tends to be what I play. Juno, Kiriko and Mercy are my usual go-to's.

i thought it was fun. i played it with my partner a couple times. lack a lot of interest in those online team based shooters nowadays though

Ah yea that one game famous for biological education videos , thoughts? Never played it but let me tell you it's blizzard attempt at creating TF2 but for sissies :loldog , i didn't even play TF2

I played Overwatch 1 for a couple years. I eventually got driven away because of the playerbase's nasty attitude. It didn't help that I wasn't that great at it, and I mained S76 who wasn't exactly well liked by most of the people around me, lol.

By the end of my time with Overwatch, I would get on and only play the FFA mode... maybe I should have been a Quake player instead? ::thinking

Having played it when it came out, I did enjoy my time with it and even got lucky with some of the legendary skins. Really I just fell out of the game cause I lost interest in it and with how Blizzard has been with the game, man what a journey it was to witness it.

In general I'm not that big on the hero shooter genre but I do play some Rivals once in a while so I do enjoy it somewhat but my preference will always go to single-player games to pass the time.

Good Hentai Videos, Extremelly Shitty Pair Of Games Tbh.

I need to find that bell curve meme where the low IQ end says "Overwatch is only popular because Valve made TF2" and the high IQ end says "Overwatch is only popular because Valve made Source Film Maker".

I'm an Overwatch 2 player, I'm not very good, I really like the game since there are people who don't like it, I have fun. I am main d.va. juno, kiriko, mei, symetra

Overwatch for me was a unforgivable experience. I played game after first anniversary event cause i got my first shitty computer after this. I played the game even under lowest spec. I had so much lags but I played cause game was this fun. I would even say the Years 2015-2018 was a golden renaissance age of blizzard. Cause they got so much good games to offer like Overwatch, Hearthstone, World of Warcraft with new Legion Expansion. Or if you like me who never played any PC games Diablo 3, Heroes of the Storm, or Starcraft 2 and Warcraft 3. And returning to Overwatch i must say I never seen anything like overwatch before and after like bro this game was played by many and even if someone didnt played this game if new Overwatch Cinematic dropped it was an event for non-players. Even though people who didn't play the game dressed up as characters from the game or even knew the game's lore. I think after Diablo Immortal announcement everything in Blizzard started to crack up. New Expansion for WoW was terrible, they started to fire most experienced devs in studio, and content drought for overwatch has started when there was no new event just for 3rd or 4th time you got only few new skins for characters even PVE (I mean Overwatch Archives) mode had nothing new to offer.
After OW2 release i totally lost interest in and still while playing Marvel Rivals with friends and remembering Overwatch I still remember how this game was important for me.
In the end I can only say
"You were the chosen one! It was said that you'd destroy shitty games not join them! You were meant to bring balance to the gaming — not drown it in monetization and chaos!
You were my game... I loved you."
