I always had an habit of when finding a good game, that i'm very invested and has a good atmosphere, to select a "home spot" and chill there, just for the sake of enjoying the world moving, the sound design, the music.
Three of the first games i did this a lot was: Majora's Mask, ICO, and A Link To The Past
I think Zelda series are particularly good to make you want to just chill doing nothing in the game, and Majora's Mask has always been the supreme in making you feel comfortable in chilling inside the houses and watching the NPCs doing their routines.
ICO is just too perfect for relaxing(as long as you never let Yorda go), specially if you are just sitting on the bench listening to the top tier soundtrack.
But this is not exclusive to games intended to be somewhat "relaxing". I love clearing a level in Quake or Half-Life and just walking around looking at the scenario, or one of my favorite activities, which involve walking around empty custom servers in old fps games and watching everything it had to offer in it's glory. Same thing for online "Bomb Rush Cyberfunk" and the so many online custom levels where you can just keep tricking around an entire night if you want, and you even have the chance to find someone in one forgotten map, i has a very "chilling with the bros after skating all afternoon while listening to some hip-hop and telling jokes" vibe
Cyberpunk 2077 is also a game that satisfied a lot my desire for doing nothing inside a game, it even has mechanics of smoking, watching tv, drinking, playing guitar and other activities inside the game. It certainly can be a chill game with chill spots.
(My favorite spot in the whole game, in one of the Tyger Claws hideout)
So, what are some games you like to forget about the objective and just chill? Don't need to be a "chill" type game, can even be a horror game(i like to relax in Resident Evil save rooms don't judge me lmao) or an action game
