The PS2 had a library of amazing games because at the time making AAA titles cost a lot less than they do now. This gave video game developers to be more experimental and take more risks. Now AAA games have bigger budgets but that means they need to make more money just to break even causing them to take fewer risks.

And this my fellow gamers is why the PS2 is, and in my opinion always will be, the GOAT.

Great!

In fact, the Playstation 2, alongside Playstation 4(in my opinion), are the greatests and the bests of the Playstation Family. The PS1 is the precursor and the origin of the fun the old Sony gave to us, in childhood for majority. The PS2 is the amazing sucessor, and the powerful 128-bit platform(besides don't have a few rare Arcade conversions Dreamcast have). The PS3 is good but not so great, besides have the free online playing who is still working and various exclusive JRPGs. The PS4 is the perfection of the family, with a huge library of games around the world. And the PS5 is the black sheep of the familly, even have a superior hardware to PS4 in terms of loading times.

PS2 and PS4 are the best consoles of all time. Many games of great quality of life they have, and all of them are best stories who will be immortal for next years or even centuries.

This is presented as if the PS2 era of development freedom wasn't largely dependent on how well it worked in the PS1 era, which featuring sequels that only lived because they thrived on PS1 first. Example: "You could release a game about a rapping dog." It's amazing that this could only ever happen on a PS2. Oh wait.

Aside from the plethora of great games the PS2 is a complete entertainment system be it a DVD player. It became something other systems claim to do and that is a total entertainment system.

There’s a reason why it’s still the best selling game console of all time.

I can agree to that heavily.

A lot of people seem to forget this, but Sony had dedicated developers and games for each regional division back in the 6th gen days. So America had one, Europe/UK had one, and the Japanese had one too of course. They would get their own regional exclusive 1st party games too.

I remember a time when I really wanted a PS2. Really wanted to play Tekken 5 and RE4. What ended up happening though is that I got the PS1 really late in it's life. I've really on;y been able to play PS2 games either at a friends house of that some place where they got a console setup and they charge X amount of cash per hour of play. I did eventually got pretty deep in it once I started tinkering with Emulation. I remember the first ones I tried to run were KOF the Orochi Saga and Okami. Still, today I still think the PS2 is the best. ::winkfelix

Since PS1 that every region of the world produced games for Sony's consoles. This is now more evident with PS4 and PS5, with games such as Pocket Bravery, an pixeled-like fighting game created here in Brazil by Stratera Studios.

Speaking of Pocket Bravery, this game is created under problems and now those are solved. The new problem is the producers don't like the idea to export the game on Japan, and if be done, this game could be released in Arcades under the eXa-Label just like ocurred by taiwanesse game Fight of Gods, who become famous thanks by MiKaDo and his weekly competitions.

Parappa The Rapper 2, you mean.

Sad Sony forgot the character himself actually(alongside Um Jammer Lammy)

Obs: I like Parappa The Rapper 2, who is more challenging than the first game(it's serious!).

What I was saying is that it's disingenuous to pretend the PS1 and its titles didn't exist, which is what the video in the OP is doing. Parappa 2 only happens by way of the first one being a success, Lammy less so, and vib-ribbon being a notable curiosity. All on PS1. Development money didn't magically appear because a PS2 dev kit was finalized.

Important to know who Vib-ribbon are, as a game who any other console didn't thinked to create.

Every playability can be different and unique once another CD is inserted after loading the normal game. Masaya Matsuura is a genius!
