MUSHA is a vertically scrolling shooter developed by Compile and released for the Sega Genesis in 1990. An entry in Compile's shooter series, Aleste, MUSHA places the player in the role of a flying mecha pilot who must destroy a large super intelligent computer threatening planet Earth. The game had a working title of Aleste 2 and originally featured a style similar to the first game, but this was changed to a more original Japanese aesthetic and speed metal soundtrack.

I remember playing that game back in the day (just over 20 years ago). :D
Good game. If I recall correctly, I think I actually managed to finish it... which if I did, would've been thanks to save states. (I played it on an emulator. Thanks dad!)

Definitely one of the better shmups.

Mmmm the most time i put into a Genesis game has got to be Shadowrun. Beat it twice and each time takes a full week to beat (most of that building up money and karma to do upgrades, so 90% odd jobs, 10% main storyline missions).

Megadrive/Genesis seems to be a console full of these great shooters...
I've already played some simply great ones.

This one is an Aleste so it should be a lot of fun,I imagine.

And my quintessential "waiting" game is Donkey Kong 94...Sometimes (˶˃ ᵕ ˂˶) .ᐟ.ᐟ

Musha is an absolute banger. Genesis/Megadrive had some good Shmups.

I like the Genesis port of Truxton alot

One of Toaplan's classics, the arcade versions pretty hard, but the home port is more manageable. The giant skull has to be one of my favorite shmup bombs.

What! I love that Donkey Kong too ::poggurai
It's a really, really great remake or reimagining for me. Adding new stuff to an already amazing arcade game that'll still surprised me ::dkapproves

I love that the first few levels are fun but if you keep advancing is when you find new and more interesting things at a playable level.
