You are right, in its own context 3DS is like Virtual Boy's handheld version!! You can pretty much have da Virtual Boy experience by playing these 3D games by looking so close to the screen!!!! lolol

out of all consoles, why did they make a virtual boy version???

because of the way you view it. The original system would trick your eyes into thinking it was 3D. But i like the way fan emulators do it instead with the 3D off and switching it to black and white instead of bright red. Easier on your eyesight, customizable controls, and full screen on your computer.
