The Xbox experience!

I haven't bought anything from Microsoft game wise since the 360.

I kind of fell out of consoles at that point in time. Only recently did I buy a PS4 from a pawn shop for 60 bucks.. it might have been 70, I forget now. By recently, I mean almost a year ago. Though I have broken out the old 360, what with the badupdate and the abadAvatar tethered softmods coming out. But as for anything past the 360, I honestly haven't seen any console have anything worth spending money on in the last 15 years, at least not big AAA games.

Some indie games, but almost every indie title you can get on PC. So why bother getting an 700$+ OS locked mid tier PC that is basically a walled-off "You buy from us or nothing" PC when I can play 99% of what they have on the gaming PC I hardly turn on?

So what is my take on "The Xbox Experience"?

Been looking for the next steam deck competitor that actually feels like an upgrade and I'll say Xbox was smarter to slap their brand and logo on an already established piece of hardware than try to make their own right out the gate.

I believe only on Classic xbox and xbox 360 supremacy . The other consoles were incestous failures that defiled and utterly desecrate its future and lineage .

When the 360 is easily soft-moddable , we got a peak emulation-machine with great games on it from its gen .

Xbox as a console ecosystem is experiencing a very slow, depressing decline. The Xbox One was just too big of a misfire and despite regaining some goodwill in the backhalf of the 2010s, it wasn't nearly enough to dethrone Sony's dominance, especially with most of Microsoft's exclusives getting delayed or cancelled.

I'm glad the system existed though. The original Xbox and 360 were home to tons of amazing experiences and allowed a lot of games to exist that might not have ever been made otherwise. Would Halo have taken over the world if it was a Mac or even PC exclusive? What about Fable or Gears of War? One of my favorite games of all time, Phantom Dust, probably only happened because Microsoft happened to open up a Japanese dev studio for a brief period of time.

Its sad to watch them die such a slow and embarrassing death, but it is what it is. Truthfully, every console generation has been a massive blowout. The SNES still outsold the Genesis over 2 to 1 despite people pretending that it was a tight contest. The PS1 and PS2 outsold all of its competition combined and then some. The only reason the PS3 and 360 were even close that generation is because Microsoft had the stars align to give them a headstart whilst Sony shot themselves in the foot for the first couple years of the PS3's life. Once Sony corrected course Microsoft immediately lost their lead. It's reasonable to assume that even if the Xbox One wasn't such a colossal fuckup in the early years we'd probably still be looking at Microsoft being a distant ways behind Sony in terms of sales. It took multiple miracles for Microsoft to ever gain any ground over their primary competition and lightning can only strike so many times.

I was at a buddy yesterday that still has an Xbox360 we played GTA 5. That was great, the Xbox is already a good console unfortunately he wasn't lucky so far. But there is always hope I don't think the console will disappear I'm curious to see what will come in the Future.
