As the title suggest i want to discuss what are some of the worst songs on VGS to the point that could ruin the experience while you try to play

"Bubsy's Theme" - Bubsy 3D

This song is cheerful and repetitive, just like the game itself sounds like somebody got interesting ambitions but an awful execution

"The Bad Apple" - Touhou Project

The repetitive nature of this song becomes annoying almost immediately

"The Gummy Ship Theme" - Kingdom Hearts

Is interesting that for a game that features a duck and a dog fighting against jrpgs characters has a song so childish that it does not fit serious tones of the rest of the game.

"Sonic R" - Sonic R

If in this game the characters drive cars the music would make you want to crash and burn, too cheesy for its own good and sadly it sounded outdated even by the time of release

"Mortal Kombat: Annihilation Theme" - Mortal Kombat: Annihilation

This song attempts to capture the intensity of the franchise but falls flat with its cheesy lyrics and awkward delivery.

"Mansion Basement" - Resident Evil Directors Cut

It might seem like an obvious choice, but there’s no denying that this song sounds like someone who has never played a piano just randomly pressed some notes. From start to finish, it’s awful and completely ruins the atmosphere of the game. At least the later remake addressed this issue and improved both the soundtrack and many other aspects of the game.

Are there any other songs you think are bad enough to ruin the game just by being there? Let me know if you have any in mind!

Lol, I respectfully disagree. I love that Cheese-Factory of a soundtrack! 🧀🎶🤣

The vocal songs from the sonic games spring to mind. Especially Sonic Racing, and the into track from Sonic CD.

Pure cringe
Ahahaha, the cringe is part of the fun 🤭🧀

The entire Knuckles' Chaotix OST.

Seriously... combine that with the bright, melting color palette and the whole package makes me think that my head is about to blue screen XD

I always hated this one from We <3 Katamari. (TURN DOWN YOUR HEADPHONES BEFORE LISTENING TO IT!!!!) It's a shame, because that game has an excellent soundtrack – I have no idea with Namco was thinking here...

The entire Knuckles' Chaotix OST.
You're both on the list. ::redhot

I'm gonna be honest here... I really can't stand this cheese-fest. It's almost as if the studio said "Ok, be as literally cheesy and cringe as you possibly can be".

And Takenobu Mitsuyosh was like... "Hold my beer".

Yes, I know some of you will consider that sacrilegious.
YOU DO NOT KNOCK THE LOUNGE LIZARD OF SEGA!

Everyone has different opinions on things. ESPECIALLY when it comes to things like musical tastes. Please try to understand this.

People are entitled to disagree of course, but be friendly, polite and respectful when you post (in any part of this website).

I can't say that I have any video game music that I dislike but I was wondering why someone on here was going to create a forum that would have people arguing at each other over some thing.

I thought the same thing at first, too.
But scrolling through here, it seems (for the most part) that peeps are getting a good chuckle out of some of the music brought up and kinda leaving it at that. I know I have. :ROFLMAO:
*turns on Sonic R OST 🤭🎶🧀🌽

The CDR community seems pretty heartily groovy and chill about most things. I gotta say, I'm impressed.

People don't necessarily HATE things they think are technically "bad", you know? And feeling angry when somebody points their dislikes to something we love just show our insecurity, infantile behavior. It's all about how we communicate with each other. :p

I'll mention music from Guilty Gear Petit 2 here. Their composition is actually amazing, but the chipset sounds so bad, i don't know.... probably it wasn't annoying in a small handheld, low volume.... but i was playing this on a TV and after 10 minutes every song started to sound like a torture lol

Can't be all laughs on here as @Gorse got banned last night. Post #12 originally said, "Looking at you @Gorse" before they deleted that part, strange huh?

If people have that type of thinking, then they probably enjoy being that way.

Nothing strange. It was a warning for him to stop disrespecting different opinions. He replied with a clown emoji and then posted on the moderator's profile more rude messages. We have rules in this forum, be sure to follow them and you don't get banned. Anyway, it was for 3 days, ending tomorrow.

And this is the end of this discussion in this thread.

i think my fav bad soundtrack has to be Shadow of Destiny it just....is strange atonal midi sounds that do not fit and somehow make the game more hysterical?? Like I genuinely have no idea what they were going for but it's like if an Orange Milk release had the fx stripped off.

Pretty much almost any game that used the GEMS sound driver on the Mega Drive/Genesis. A lot of devs used it (mostly western) because it was simpler, but it does the console a disservice and helped spread the fantasy that the machine had bad sound capabilities.
