The TRUE reason why 2D games remain superior

2D games may not be universally considered "better," yet they shine in areas such as precision, artistic style, design clarity, and accessibility. Rather than competing with 3D games, they coexist harmoniously, frequently providing more concentrated and fulfilling experiences.

4D would be DANGEROUS. the CPU would provide unlimited savestates like an emu... but every time you set one, when you resume you find yourself in a completely transfigured gameworld with completely different controls n non-euclidean environments where aLL previous intuition means less than 2 tickets to FUCKALL n IRL wouLd warp into complete abstract paradigms where you realize you're just a 2D waLL wearin a hat - lookin for the gold 8-ziLLion lifetimes ago you were promised by ppl who never existed.

...yea 4D's a gamestranger. NO MICROSONYTENDO, DOOOONNN'T DOOOO EEHHHHTTTT *in deep-voiced melodramatic slo-mo with arm out useLessLy*

If an alternate reality version of me save stated itself into existence, I would kill him before he kills me. Because clearly I am already thinking about this scenario, he would have to. Can't risk it

[for people who lack object permanence]

I dunno about that, I feel some 3d have done much better for some games. To be honest, it really depends on the developer as some i know does really great 2d games, while a few others do really really great 3d games. When technology and programming improves, so does the art....but not necessary the game.

Claiming that two fundamentally different things have any actual intrinsic quality scale is just intellectually limiting.

Both can coexist (like Zelda does) with their own qualities for each.
