hi guys how its going iam fine you ? (sorry i have bad english but i try my best so i hope you enjoy my little discusion) so i think the ps2 has to be beast becouse back in the time this console has awesome games on all gaming history for example grand theft auto san andreas or god of war has too much good games for differnt guys so my dad has always question to me why you use the ps2 to ps4 i say i like it its enjoylible and this site has too much help tome because my console has dms4 chip and i need iso files to play games and my friend say go to look at the cd romance and i found the my wanted alll games so what you think the use ps2 worth it ot its dosent worth it so this is my toughts for ps2 to somewone reads this post please coment to what do you think thank you for read this post have nice day bye

the ps2 is the best console but it also has pretty awesome compatibility with emulation so i use that for most things. i do intend to get a ps2 for modding someday, but i'll probably just go for softmod since it'll work pretty easy for me.

if you love RPGs and character action games, you can't do any better than the ps2 in my opinion. i honestly wish we just kept making ps2 games forever.

From what i understand, the PS2 is a powerhouse, but the graphical GPU isn't like typical GPU's, instead it's closer to the Atari 5200, namely that you have to stream your data to the GPU in 16k blocks rather than just giving it models and textures and it holding them. As such it takes more power to emulate than other systems, so you're losing quite a bit of processing just streaming data to the GPU.

But i agree, PS2 had some awesome titles, and i still intend to keep playing it.

Hmmm maybe. I'd wager 1/3rd of the sales of the PS2 was because it was double-dipped in marketing, as a DVD player. And a lot of people got it as a DVD Player (since it was cheaper than regular DVD players) without ever getting games. First batch of PS2's in Japan had a bug letting them play DVD's from any region.

Agreed! I came back to playing PS2 on PCSX2 but I eventually wanted the real thing again so I got a PS2 and modded it. I also found a CRT. I also modded a Xbox and GameCube. 6th generation in general is amazing.
