Welcome to one of the most successful game in the history of gaming !
Pokemon it will soon be retro itself so many editions so many Pokemon generations but what is your story and experience with this game ? Tell your Pokemon story !

When Pokemon Yellow was a great craze I tried it. TBH it was a "horror" experience because it's no different than brainwashing a dog just to have fun and bet on making dogs fight with each other. It's weird to make this situation in a "childish way" lol. Whole situation is "weird". Catching pokemons, trapping them into balls, forcing them to fight... wow lolol.

Pokemon used to be so awesome and is so trash now. Started with Gen 1 but current Pokemon is literally unplayable. Shitty graphics, brain-dead gameplay for literal two year olds and hundreds of trashmons that have no identity whatsoever other then being terrible.

I could go on and on.

My knowledge of Pokemon doesn't go much further than Gen 3, but I've enjoyed what I've played. I really should dive more into the series one of these days.

Don't say it like that! The greatest terror organisation Nintendo has an obvious goal to turn little kids into cruel animal abusers to keep the illegal dog fighting scene alive!!! lolol

My peak of playing Pokémon was during the DS/3DS era and after that, the series went downhill for me. I also played the GBA games a lot, FireRed being the first Pokémon game I ever owned, with Sapphire and Emerald coming not long after, but I had no link cables so I couldn't trade with anyone, which is why I say the DS era was my peak.

I started with the DS games but I did try out the GBA Games and Yellow around the same time. Pokémon took up a lot of my childhood. From Heart Gold to Sun I pre-ordered every game and finished it each time. Gen 6 was when I was slowly losing interest and to me that was when the series was going downhill and fast. Sun was actually good and a fresh breath of air, but Ultra Sun/Moon felt like a very bland updated version. I think Pokémon should've had a better transition to 3D and even after playing Violet I do wish the games were bigger. Violet reuses 3D animations from gen 6 which was on the 3DS and it doesn't look much better than that system. Plus Violet has terrible framerate. I've lost all faith with Game Freak.

DS ones were really cool. It had somewhat "serious story" that actually matters lol but I don't mean "wow what a story, man, it's like matrix" or something, it was a refreshing experience. But my favorite game was Pokemon Moon, IMO Pokemon games were at peak in Moon/Sun series. You can dress up your guy, classic pokemons, decent new pokemons and all. Oh also in previous games Rocket Team and their BS evil presence was ugh so it was refreshing to just deal with ordinary punk Pokemon gangs in Pokemon Moon/Sun and it story kinda had a cool scientific stuff.

I would like Pokemon Sword if it wasn't weird "british" theme bashed with straight world map, weird pokemons and too much dialogue and forced cutscenes lol.

Pokemon came out when I was a kid (yes i'm old) and I thought it was super lame....fast forward 11 years and this intern from China was playing it on his DS at work. I asked him about it and he said he would teach me how to use a flashkart on my DS if I gave it a try....Platinum was my intro and I lovedit! Long rides on the subway were made much more pleasant for sure! I am forever thankful for that kid introducing me both to Pokemon and the world of emulation ;-)

I had my stint, as other carbon based lifeforms, surely, but after Gen 6 it kind of died completely for me.

I'll never understand why it's so common for people to become so angry just by the mere mention of Pokémon lol

I didn't get into Pokémon until I was a bit older, because the people I met in high school played it. I got HeartGold and it's one of my favorite games ever, and I really like OG gen 2 and gen 6. I like casually playing the mainline games, and the occasional spin-off. I still very much enjoy the like "summer break safari" kinda vibe that the games have where you just romp around the countryside finding new cool animals and teaching them cool moves. The sort of sci-fi contemporary world is also pretty appealing to me even though it's not as big of an element in the later games.

My favorite mons are probably Ampharos, Lycanroc and Scizor.

Every mainline game Gen VII and back are peak experiences that I think everyone should have. Pokemon Sword is just okay and Violet is good but not amazing or anything sadly. My favorite Gen is personally 4 but anyone that you can play from 1 to 7 is really amazing stuff with great lore.

I always saw Meowscarada as a showman at a circus. Or something akin to Vega from Street Fighter or Joker from Persona 5. I have no idea what you're thinking man.
Yeah all the stage 3 starters in SV are like performers or something, I assume? Meowscarada is some kind of stage magician/jester or whatever. I wasn't really a fan of any of them because they're too divorced from their stage 1 for me so I usually end up switching them out for something I like more, but that's kind of been an "issue" since at least gen 7 for me. Maybe gen 6 but I like all of those so I guess I'm biased.
I'd like my cute cats (just like with Litten) to become a cool cat, and not a goofy cartoon character lol.

technically, johto does actually exist to an extent. here's a brief summary from google about it.
"The Johto region in the Pokemon world is primarily based on the Kansai region of Japan, particularly the areas of Nara, Kyoto, and Osaka. It also incorporates elements from the Chūbu and Shikoku regions."

Sure; he can just go to Japan, wear a ball cap, catch a dog and make the dog attack other dogs and any Japanese people who would be like "omae koko de nani shiten da yo, gaijin?" to relive his realistic pokemon life! Easy peasy eggs are tasty!!! lolol
