Seen any good movies lately? Want to share them? Then, this is the place for it.

I'll start with one that I honestly didn't like at first, but it's grown on me since:

You?

The last movie i saw was literally a cartoon (malaysian cartoon to be excact) that i've watched since i was 7 i think.

And Lemme tell you even tho i was the few adult that watch this movie but goddamn it brings tears to my eyes.

Like i wanna watch this to you know laugh it off since it was a kid cartoon then suddenly a scene about economic and parents struggle hit me like a truck

(Like the combination of the song and the nuance was so good at those scene. In a moment i forgot that i literally watching a movie for kids).
Post automatically merged:

Wait i can't really call myself an adult when i barely 20 y.o when i watch that

From everything I watched recently these three stood out the most:

Don't Look Now is a very surreal but intriguing story about grief. Its beautifuly shot, well acted and has some interesting editing and camera techniques (you'll know what I mean if you watch it). Beware of a way too long and detailed sex scene though, I sat through it but kinda wish I didn't.

A Tale of Two Sisters is another story about grief and processing it (I'm into sad movies, what can I say). Despite some horror elements, which are striking and very well done, this movie looks and sounds like a lighthearted melodrama and I love that. It pulls you in with its slow pace, mystery and atmosphere if you let it. Now I want to watch the american "remake" called The Uninvited to compare the two, and I think I already know what my takeaway would be, lol.

Girl, Interrupted features Winona Ryder and Angelina Jolie as mentally unstable girls stuck in psych ward, for different reasons. I liked how throughout the movie we get to know these two as well as other characters, which makes this unplesant place feel cozy and familiar to the point that you almost don't want to leave, just like the main character. It resonated with me on many different levels and that's why I liked it so much, but sentimentality aside its just a well made movie based on a good story. What else do you need?

I saw Project Hail Mary the other day at a spontaneous afternoon trip to the cinema with a friend.
Went in with zero expectations (I just knew it was based on a book my dad and brother really like, written by the same guy that wrote The Martian) and I was honestly pretty blown away. What a delightful movie.
Highly recommended!

i am completely under the impression now that every single movie review is controversial on purpose calling the movies terrible to get people talking about them more and to get them to see the films. It's happening too often. I'm suspicious.
