I do milk first.
I put the spoon in my bowl and pour the milk so the spoon is submerged by a specific amount.
I'll generally get the same amount of milk each time.
Then I'll put a little bit of cereal in, eat that, put more cereal, and so on. This way it's always crunchy.

Cereal for me, not only if you add milk first the cereal float and spills out of the bowl, wasting cereal, but if you want a cereal refill you always get leftover milk, so you can add the exact amount

Milk why? Its versatile you can use it in all sorts of sweets , you can create mix it with rice to create rice milk a good thing and more...it actually stops your hunger and you make cocktails with it like banana cocktail.

What good is cereal? Impractical and doesn't provide nutrition or enough of it.
