This hack adds QoL features from the randomizer to the base game.

List Of Available Changes:
  • Swift Sail replaces Sail (Swift Sail is 2x faster and the wind is always at your back as long as the sail is out.)
  • Brisk Sail replaces Sail (Brisk Sail is 1.5x faster than the Swift Sail. Cruise with R when it's too fast.)
  • Instant text boxes and ability to skip text while holding B.
  • Faster block moving.
  • Faster grapple hook (Matches speed of HD remaster.)
  • Faster rolling speed.
  • Faster crawling, climbing, NPC chat zoom
  • Tingle chests without tingle tuner (Allow Tingle Chests to be found with normal bombs. Compass reveals location.)
  • Turn while swinging or grappling.
  • Faster Ballad of Gales animation.
  • No song replays (Remove Link's animation to conduct the song after the first use.)
  • Remove intro and ending videos.
  • Invert camera on the X-axis to behave like HD remaster.
  • Unrestricted boat (King of Red Lions will not stop you from veering off course, but will keep you within the map. Can cause sequence breaks.)
  • Reveal full sea chart (Reveals the whole sea chart during file creation. Does not apply to existing saves.)
  • Random enemy colors.
  • Change Link's colors or model (Models not included.)

Included Gecko Codes:
  • Second set of equipped items (D-pad down to switch)
  • Hero Mode (Take double damage, no heart drops)
  • Items don't disappear
  • Unrestricted camera
  • No heart beeping noise
  • Disable blur

Patcher requires Windows 32-bit or 64-bit. Works with WINE (tested on version 10.11).
Compatible with Gamecube, Wii, and Dolphin (disable Gamecube boot logo in Dolphin).
Apply patch to US copy of Wind Waker.

Maybe it's time for a replay. I wasn't too keen on it gameplay-wise when I replayed ~2019 despite having a ton of nostalgia (loved lounging on the couch watching my sister play it when I was in elementary school).

With all these improvements and qualities of life, it gives this iconic game from the Zelda franchise another chance.

This mod addresses a lot of issues I have with Wind Waker. Might give it another shot.

I know this doesn't have a chance in hell of being implemented but hear me out: I love the way the Wind Waker baton works in Hyrule Warriors. Yes, I know that game came out much later but it still makes me wonder how my initial experience would have been affected if the player was allowed to use the Wind Waker like an actual baton during gameplay instead of just a reskinned Ocarina of Time. Using the WW to summon wind for travel would have been much more engaging with the ability to manually conduct the wind, imo.
