I can kind of understand not including 99 (its meh to me) but NO 98??? Thats legit one of the best in the series.

Because the compilation was made using PS2 standalone releases. They used the Orochi-hen Collection for '95 to 97', which have straight ports of these games. The only way to play standalone vanilla KOF '98 on PS2 is through the awful Orochi Saga Collection made for western markets.

It appears to be the inferior version of 2002, instead of the extremely bad ass 2002 unlimited match. Also, I don't see unlimited match on the repo at all.

Just a guess, but 98 ultimate match is 2.5gb zipped, maybe they meant for this to fit on a single layer dvd?

Vanilla 2002 and UM are almost different games. Both have pros and cons.

Also 2002 UM is on the Repo for years but the Tougeki version is absent. I'm gonna add it tomorrow but the changes are minimal for casual players.

99 never got a PS2 port, and the 95-97 collection is the Japanese version. There's an NTSC version with 94-98 on here, too, called The Orochi Saga, if you wanna play 98's PS2 version..

These are PS2 releases, not Neo Geo emulators running indepedently.

The list in the post links to the individual releases of every game in this compilation, which are the exact same PS2 games. The only difference is that all games in this compilation are the Japanese versions. Most of them have English support.
