The Internet Archive is in trouble

Correct me if I am wrong anyone (only skimmed page 1-5 of the complaint) but looks like IA should be ok here, hopefully. Of course, donate if you can! That is what they need because a legal defense is never cheap in US: there is no mechanism to recoup attorney costs ::sadkirby

Looks like IA has good procedural motives for dismissal. If I understand, UMG is dog piling on the previous RIAA litigation at the "last minute" and UMG and their entities have been not compliant with discovery and deadlines. That is a big no-no, and I can't see a judge disagree with that and so they should rule in IA's favor. But in the meantime, IA is out that amount of money for the legal defense ::sadkirby
I only am afraid the petitions are going to delay the inevitable.
I agree on the effect of a petition ::sadkirby. What they need is money, I'm not sure what a petition would do here, but they probably love the support so anyone should do that ^_^ I think they can win against this new complaint: UMG is just smelling "blood in the water" and thinks they can break IA's bank with enough pressure. That said, IA needs the money/resources to win ::sadkirby

Unfortunately, the Internet Archive doesn't seem to support my country's currency. Hopefully, other users will donate in my stead.

I have already signed, and I'd like to share this deeply appropriate quote with you... It used to be ironic:

"OH NO! THEY ARE HOSTING AN ILLEGAL COPY OF THE CONQUEST EARTH SCREENSAVER FROM 1997! SHUT THEM DOWN!" ~ Ross's Game Dungeon - Conquest Earth.

Again with another garbage lawsuit? Can these jerks who are suing archive get real jobs and leave lost media alone?
That's the problem, they DO have jobs. Incredibly lucrative ones at that. Rich people just hate fun.

someone like elon musk must behind all crazy thing, no wonder tesla product get vandalized
