The release of Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds is coming next week for multiple platforms. The first international reviews are already online and provide a good impression of how SEGA's new fun racer is performing.
The Switch version will be released soon as planned. The Switch 2 version will be released later as a paid upgrade for owners of the original version.
I have a few international ratings for you:

Ratings at a glance

  • VGC – 4/5
"CrossWorlds is a brilliant kart game with satisfying handling, a fun portal feature, and useful customization. The weapons aren't quite as powerful, and it's questionable how long the motivation will last—but it's a viable alternative to Mario Kart ."
  • GamesRadar+ – 4/5
"An ambitious racer with plenty of tracks and potential for future crossovers. It starts off too slow, then gets extremely fast—not always elegant, but addictive. A bit grindy in single-player, but overall strong."
  • IGN – 9/10
"With 24 characters, 24 main tracks, and 15 Crossworld tracks, CrossWorlds offers the best selection we've ever seen in a Sonic racer—complete with a stellar soundtrack. Fast-paced, intuitive gameplay with plenty of room for customization."
  • GameSpot – 7/10
"A solid overall package. Single-player modes, collectible objectives, and extensive customization keep things motivated. Online could be stronger, but CrossWorlds definitely has a long future ahead of it."
  • Game Informer – 8.5/10
"A fresh twist on the familiar kart formula, fast and direct. Less content and replay value than the competition, but the most well-rounded kart racing game of the year."
Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds has been very well received by critics overall. The fast-paced gameplay is the extensive track selection and the soundtrack have been particularly praised . Criticism has been directed primarily at the online features and the long-term motivation factor.
The game currently averages 83/100 on Metacritic that's a strong recommendation for Sonic and fun-racer fans.
Will you be picking up Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds at launch or are you waiting for the Switch 2 version?

My guy SEGA is threatening Super Mario Kart (or whatever that BS is called) in its own platform by stealing its thunder in its own "town" ayy lmao.

that trailer..is that a pole position reference?

It certainly won't dethrone it in terms of sales.
Perhaps there would be a hope for that if it didn't have Denuvo digital tumor and $70 (we are a small indie company so we need money) price for such a simple game lol. I guess its budget was so high due to using Unreal Engine, hard-to create model and textures that required rare experts in their field, too much cinematic cutscenes required tons of mo-cap actors, professional top-class voice actors for characters, they had to hire Hollywood directors for directing and scripts, they commissioned a top record company to produce the soundtracks and shit and all, it's da AAAA game yo!!! lolol

Honestly it's just a "sucker moment" to buy it for more than $10 even if you are die hard SEGA and Sonic fan, this shit is too much for what shit it has and what it doesn't have. This shit is not a big deal game at all for it lol.

Crossworlds is just another kart racer. It's not at all worth $70. Also, Mario Kart World is absolutely not worth $80. Both those games are insanely overpriced.
