This is probably my favorite bit of Simpsons lore: a plot delivered on piecemeal offerings through a bunch of random episodes and which arrives at a satisfying conclusion that's nothing but the setup for another joke!

Early Simpsons was something else.

I love how the would-be assassin realizes his error after accidentally shooting McBain's partner once, doesn't give a fuck, a shoots him thirteen more times for good measure xD
