Which video game do you truly believe doesn't deserve the hate or backlash it receives?
For me, its MegaMan X6. Sure, the platforming could be its worst but I rather enjoy variety and constant obstacles to said platforming.
Many will argue that the "Nightmare" that adds additional dangers to each stage, making the already bad platforming worse, but again, additional obstacles does it for me.
Some will point out the music, narrative or controls but those are things that I can adapt to or ignore overtime.
Although Zero does have somewhat bad controls for special weapons, I really don't mind being more precise than what regular MegaMan games require.
I think MMX6 gets hated on for those reasons and I don't believe its deserved.

Mega Man & Bass.

I won't deny it got some problematic spots (e.g. Fortress Stages) and had made some bad decisions game design-wise, but I don't think it's as bad as some people make it out to be.

It's great on the SNES, it is unfortunate for the GBA though since the smaller screen just made it harder to play on

I never understood the sheer venom received by Blue Shift.

Yes, it's the weakest of all the Half-life expansions/total conventions/whatever, but it's not horrible.

Crash Twinsanity.

My reasoning is that I feel Traveller's Tales was the one Crash dev that got screwed so hard for no reason. They had two in development racing games that got handed to other developers. Wrath of Cortex was plagued by the fact it was an early generation title so they weren't entirely sure what they could get away with yet. and even Twinsanity was victim of an early development restart and not enough time to finish the final. They had insane ambition for the series and I feel nobody really tapped into the world the way that they had planned to. Even the newest titles have specific quirks to them that originated from Twinsanity and it's goofy nature. Even today that old dev group from TT Oxford want to do a remake so that they can fully realize the game. Activision is a garbage company though and would never let it happen without a way to monetize the whole game. As a lifelong fan of Crash Bandicoot I never thought I'd skip a new game, especially with how starved the community is when it comes to new releases. Crash Team Rumble instilled that same dread I had long ago before N Sane Trilogy came out. I really thought Crash was back, but now I'm getting sidetracked. Look up the pitch for Cortex Chaos if you don't know about it. I think that was Traveller's Tales coolest Crash pitch and it would've been a somewhat continuation of the style from Twinsanity.

My other vote goes toward MM1. I swear to god 30% of complaints are just the box art. The game itself is fine.

Sometimes I wish the GBA port never existed, just so people stopped using it to bash MM&B as a whole.
I just watched a video on this. I always liked MM&B, but I'm also a sucker for Mega Man as a whole so of course I enjoy it.

I do not believe there is a bad Half-Life game yet. Blue Shift is awesome and I can't wait for that Black Mesa mod recreating it to be finished.

Same. I never understood people calling it a "bad game." Yes, it's not as polished as the later entries, but it's to be expected from the first game in the series.

That's Mega Man? ::eek
So they hate Mega Man because of this and not the game? I guess that's normal
But 30%? How much is that?
It was a vague number, and more just exaggeration. The game does have an unfair rep though, it’s pretty fun.

I’d also like to highlight my favorite Kirby game. This has an unfair rep because people felt it was a bit slow and didn’t like that copy abilities worked a bit differently. God forbid a Kirby game tries to be original.

This game is fire, people don't like this one?

And here I thought you calculated that lol
Also Kirby games? Slow? I thought that's how it's meant to be played
Did those guys even played Kirby before?

From what I can gather, at least based on NintendoLife (which to be, isn’t always a credible place), it’s a lot of people’s least favorite Kirby and I mean like, you must have astronomical standards if this game is somehow significantly worse than the others. Kirby games are generally on a similar level of quality, so I’d rank the others really closely. My second favorite game is Return to dreamland (which also apparently has mixed reception depending on who you ask)

Yeah it’s surprising. It felt normal to me each time. Some people don’t like the animation which is also weird considering how detailed it is.

Those people just want to hate for no reason (Kirby too out of all the character)
At the time, the animation was great and it holds up quite well

People expected an action rpg, it was an easy mode Darksouls with a roguelite mode.
Pretty damn good.
But not at full price.

Final Fantasy II (The Japanese one, not the Renamed Final Fantasy IV), yeah, the obtuseness of the leveling may catch you off-guard, but if you get to learn it (Or come from Final Fantasy Legends II like me) the only annoyance come from bows hindering magic, while they could benefit wizards from the back row, otherwise the story, while Edgy at points, is a step up over the simplistic "Kill monsters to get Macguffins to defeat the bigger Monster"

For me it is Final Fantasy Mystic Quest. I've heard many people say it was a baby's first JRPG and it was a grave insult towards the American JRPG audience. And while it is intended for a younger audience, it does many things well from a design perspective and serves as a bridge for those who exclusively play Zelda and Mario games. I think it did what it set out to do pretty well. In that sense, it isn't too different from a game like Pokemon, a simpler JRPG experience aimed at kids. And many adults play Pokemon and enjoy it for what it is but look down on Mystic Quest. Never made sense to me.

Only thing i hated was Pazuzu's RNG trying to find him, also if you get cocky you will pay

Say what you will, but Shadow the Hedgehog is a cool game that I enjoy a lot. Call it nostalgia glasses, call it me being dumb, but I loved playing it as a kid and I love playing it now.

The internet tends to exaggerate things.

I didn't hate Zelda II despite it's infamy online (thanks to the AVGN). Same with Simon's Quest if you had a proper guide.

Kirby 64 is slow, that's true (same with Dreamland 3) but it's because Shimomura's Kirby is closer to a puzzle platformer than Sakurai's (which is closer to a beat'em up sometimes with Superstar). I could argue that some puzzles to get the shard tend to get annoying but they're fair games altogether. I'd still replay this game with a faster Kirby hack or cheat code.

As for Shadow I didn't mind the gunplay but the idea of redoing the same game ten times just so you could see the real ending is just ridiculous. It's the same issue I got with Heroes and having to do the same levels 4 times to be able to have access to the final boss.

I wouldn't mind seeing branching paths again in a Sonic game if it's done well but please don't make us redo the first level for each new playthrough.
