The Game Awards

I'ma be honest, I don't care about the awards at all. What I care about are the trailers for upcoming games! Here's my wishlist:

Square Enix- Kingdom Hearts 4 trailer, and a teaser for the third part of Final Fantasy 7 remake.

Namco Bandai- Ace Combat 8 and a teaser for the next mainline Tales game.

SEGA- New trailers for Jet Set Radio and Crazy Taxi, and a Sonic Unleashed remaster.

Team ICO- A gameplay trailer for their Project Robot game that was shown last year.

Capcom- Mega Man. Just anything new for Mega Man. A new trailer for the Okami sequel. And a teaser for a new Devil May Cry.

High hopes, ya know. What do you hope to see at The Game Awards?

I hear remake

Jet Set Radio and Crazy Taxi do sound interesting though.
But I never get hyped for trailers ever again to much that can be false advertisement and could be tweaked before the final release.
For its there can be games that look promising but I won't get hyped for it I wait till its released and troughly tested.
Also Game awards stopped interesting me for a long time now.

The possibility of HL3 being announced is enough to make me skim through it the next morning.

I guess my highest hopes would be release dates for FF VII Remake part 3, Kingdom Hearts 4 & Dragon Quest 12. Not so much announcements or teaser trailers, but proper concrete release dates.

A proper official confirmation for a Persona 6 would also be nice. I love Persona 5, and I am interested in the Persona 4 remake, but I think I'm ready to move onto the next mainline game now.

That's true, but later Fumito Ueda formed genDESIGN in mid-2014 (with former members of Team Ico)

I mean, it's pretty predictable, right? Expedition 33 will win a ton of stuff, rightfully deserved, Hades 2 might run away with an award or two, but it's mostly just circlejerking.

Meanwhile MH Wilds got nothing because Capcom botched the launch, gave the game a bad rep and a lot of people don't have the hardware grunt to play it comfortably. They really, really screwed up.

Wish we could get a parasite eve announcement? A Diablo 1 remake or something RE9 related.....let's hope Silent hill F wins something decent , most importantly GTA 6 news and Half Life 3 announcement

I think silent hill f(ormula 1) is just nominated on " smaller" categories sadly

Silent Hill F is mid at best but sadly one of the more em well tolerable game compared to most nowadays which only speaks of the state of gaming nowadays I don't know If I would call it the worst Silent Hill game but its well not good as a Silent Hill game if it was a stand alone that would be more debatable but as a Silent Hill game nah.
I take Silent Hill 2 the Og even Silent Hill 1 over Silent Hill Failure everyday of the week

And I stand my ground this is my opinion its not a bad game but its not that great either its mid and it doesn't feel like Silent Hill for me as a standalone it would be fine but as a Silent Hill game well not really at least not for me.

It's definitely very different and goes to some frankly bizarre places, but personally I enjoyed it for the most part.
It's absolutely gorgeous, has FAR better combat than the SH2 remake (WAY too much of it though) and I found it interesting to suss out its connections to the overall SH lore, obtuse as they were.

That said, I'm also of the opinion that the things that made SH1-3 (I also love 4, but I get why it's controversial) so great are long gone and hanging on to that version of SH is a hopeless endeavor in the modern videogame industry, so I try to approach something like SHf on its own terms.


Oh and as for the game awards... yeah I don't get the point of industry awards either. Influential and/or rich people patting themselves on the back for clout seems kind of pointless to me.
Can't think of any annoucnements that would excite me either. A new Mega Man thing would be neat, sure, but honestly I'm drowning in games already anyway.

Its not a bad game by any stretch and it would like I said be fine as a Stand Alone but it just doesn't give me the Silent Hill feeling if that makes any sense.
And Silent Hill 2 was good not the well best combat but that was not something the series was known for anyway and I dislike the Remake as it feels completely different and has a different vibe to it compared to the Original.

For me personally Silent Hill is a horror survival game and not a mindless hack and slash or dark souls clone.
Making the MC powerful or just very strong defeats the Horror element for me if I don't have to count the bullets nor have the fear the enemies as I just could beat them anyway.

And just putting horror and scary themes and imagery does not make the game Silent Hill in my book.

I think people get way too up in arms about the awards, but only if their favorite doesn’t with anything. As if people suddenly feel like their favorite game is objectively better/worse so they get to be smug about it which is just tiresome.

I like when they actually give recognition to often less known actors in the scene that do something good, like Outersloth. Makes my heart flutter with joy.
