I was once a member of a forum whose Abandonware site partner went under two decades ago this year, and posting is still going.

If things get heated to the point of having to forfeit our little archive, that's still an option... And we have pulled much greater numbers here in less than a year than they have in their 22 years of posting.

We would have a real shot at it.

Yeah. At the end of the day the archive is a nice bonus honestly. The community is what makes it all work.

70 million years ago just because me so evil they put me in a "room" made of "magical stone". Me was so young I thought it was my prison but the evil that came from space was strong enough to make the world upside down, so I understood me prison was my guardian. The irony of protecting me evil, a heredic cast out from my society because I was not wanted but thus I'm the only symbol of me society that's left!!! So I found a way to connect my mind to this website and thus turned into a dinosaur in this RGT park!!! Any sign of the existence of my kind has gone to dust in the wind of time, yet currently society knows about me situation as "Pandora's Box" that's in the center of this planet that will only open when this planet died!! Honestly I always cared. I was very thankful for CD Romance because no BS you can find games and download it for so easily. It's really romantic to be even able to find hacks and translation patches and stuff too!! It makes this place a gold mine!!! My preciooouussss lol.

So when I learned CD Romance "died" me cried and while creating my account for this website I didn't see what I typed due to me tears blinding me lol while writing my username. So typed something random that doesn't seem random because otherwise websites don't accept you as "human" so they assume you are bot or something so they delete your account and all. Honestly had no idea this place would have a forum, I just wanted to download stuff and honestly I have no idea if CD Romance had a forum too lol. Just one day I saw the name of Racing Lagoon and thus discovered something resembling a thread and here I'm writing too much lol.

In the end we are here for one thing: Just to suffer!!!! lolol. Nah, of course all these oldie but goodie games are a plus as most of us playing games for decades. In this sense we did live many lives experiencing so many video games. This naturally makes us a gamer type with a specific personality trait that we all share and it's in this context we can relate to each other and find kinship between!!!!

I stopped using social media like twitter and facebook after it became stupid over the last few years. Its like suddenly every idiot got themselves on social media recently and they think its some battleground of morality. These days I like oldschool forums like this. Forums are kind of a dying hivemind. Been on them since I was 12 and they seem to be phasing out in favor of places like Reddit or Discord. So I was rather surprised and also delighted that this place had one

I kinda hate that truth. Because I see Discord and Reddit more like messaging apps that don't really express and do the things a forum does, if that makes any sense. Like I don't use Discord as I would a forum, and the same with Reddit, they just don't offer the same things, and they don't feel as good as a forum does.

Honestly, I don't think there is much to worry about. Yes, the forum could go bust at any time.
I don't know the ins and outs and the specifics of how it works from Spike's end, and I haven't been here that long. But from what I have seen of the user base here (The few assholes not withstanding) it's a pretty tight-knit place.

Almost like a family, honestly. I don't think if the site were in dire straits, the users who care would let it sink. The backups be damned, I think most would respond to the call to keep the forum going if nothing else
