Switch The first Nintendo Switch 2 direct, your opinions???

Metroid Prime 4 has me concerned. On the one hand, Biking around the world looks cool. On the other hand, it looks like they're trying for an open world Metroid? That wide open desert gives me big open world vibes (it reminds me of the open desert in Jak 3, actually). If that turns out to be the case, I don't know. Open world Metroid sounds like a disaster waiting to happen. Combine that with the Psychic abilities, which seem to slow the game's pacing, and I'm left in much doubt about the game's quality.

One of the people streaming the direct mentioned the game looks rushed, and I can't help but agree somewhat. Considering its turbulent development cycle (Nintendo had to publicly announce development was going poorly and switched development to Retro), I wonder if the team is strapped for ideas. However, Metroid Prime and Dread were able to deliver in a big way despite their respective horror shows of development, so I'm at least a little optimistic about Beyond.

Most things I found interesting are either coming to Switch 1 as well or are very likely to come to PC eventually, so from the perspective of it selling me on a Switch 2 it's a resounding meh.
That new FE looks interesting, but that's about it.

That said, I definitely am interested in checking out that Fatal Frame 2 Remake and while DQVII is one of my least liked entries in the series, I'm always down for DQ.
It'll probably be a while before those get their inevitable PC ports, but I have no doubt they'll eventually make their way there.

I found the Direct to be ok. I'm not that interested in most of the stuff as they are either coming out outside of the Switch 2 or won't be on it exclusively. Whatever new releases exclusive didn't have my interest neither outside of Metroid Prime 4 as I'm not really into Mario sports games in general, never been a fan of Zelda, and the new FE being in the Three Houses world is definitely not gonna help my interest in it lol. Overall not the worst thing but didn't have much expectations, especially seeing the Virtual Boy in there which cracks me up every time I get reminded of it. Really just a taste thing on my end.

The only thing that made me dislike it more is the gall to promote DLC for a game that's not out yet, Pokemon Z-A is definitely a game for that and it's a Game Freak game so I hold 0 faith that they'll make something even good with Pokemon anymore.

It was fine. Glad that Nintendo didn’t forget about Galaxy 2 again. Glad that the first teaser of the second movie dropped. I don’t know why they decided to add Virtual Boy games to NSO. Don’t they know that thing was a complete failure? Maybe they did it for shits and giggles.

The Nintendo Switch 2 is utter garbage and any attention to it is wasted I rather watch paint dry than to pay any mind to this greedy piece of electronic waste

Missed it, goddamn Time Zones (Here it was transmitter at 8 AM)
I mean, I SHOULDN'T have been awake to watch it in my timezone. But I was... ::sailor-embarrassed

In 2nd-hand market sometimes I see people even sell their dirty and torn clothes that they try to sell as "you can make it a cleaning cloth at least", Nintendo clearly has the same logic. "Let's put this on sale so I'm sure people will pay for it" -- Nintendo SMH lolol.

I know this is a strange criticism, but I cannot get my head around Nintendo's insistence on starting each presentation with an older Nintendo spokesperson in a suit, talking about business ethos, stuff that is insanely boring to kids, and then following it up with the most condescending "little billy's first video game" narrators for the rest of the show....even during adverts for games rated mature! 🤣 So strange.
Yeah the narration in the directs are very condescending. It's so annoying to listen to.

I already knew that a new Fire Emblem would be what get's my attention on the Switch 2, but I'm still gonna need more then one game.

I think there were a couple of cool announcements (Zero: Akai Chou Remake, Dragon Quest VII, Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave), but nothing that particularly appealed to me, specifically. I love Fire Emblem, but mostly the older Shouzo Kaga era games (Genealogy and Thracia are my favorites), and Three Houses isn't really my thing, especially the art style, so more of it doesn't really get me all that hyped. It is nice to see more characters in the series that aren't porcelain white, though, and the more Arabian-looking setting is pretty neat.

Fatal Frame 2 remake is good news, I guess, since the franchise is not forgotten. Though I hate how character models look. Virtual Boy stuff is funny in terms of "who is it for and who asked" but other that that, eh. 10 new Pokemon and Mario games won't make me buy a Switch 2. Not that I have money to buy $80 games anyway.
...They seriously skipped to 2: Crimson Butterfly for the Fatal Frame remakes. What's so wrong with the original?
