The English patch for the PS2 version of Flower, Sun, and Rain is almost complete!

I looked for it out of curiousity (had seen this title browsing ds games but never stopped at it), the plot sounds a bit disturbing though; from the guy who made it (Suda51), I looked on wiki and saw I played "Contact" (dint't like it a lot), "Liberation Maiden" (quite cool) and "Sine Mora" (very cool gameplay and graphics, especially the ones in the city, not lighthearted plot and pretty heavy plot twist in the end).

I didn't even know this game existed, but it looks cool. I might give this a go when the patch is released.
Or play its NDS version that has official English translation!!!

It's a very cozy surreal weird-funny relaxing ha ha-funny intense adventure you can finish in one sitting while listening to banger music like these!!!:

Ah, I'm still in that hotel growing up like a flower under the sun and rain waiting to bloom!!!! Come on Catherine, we have many mysteries to solve like Atlantis, The Emerald Tablet, The Voynich Manuscript, 9/11 and Epstein's List!!! lolol

Extremely good news indeed! Can’t wait to play it when it’s finished. Also, a great excuse for me to replay Killer7 in the meantime — or maybe The 25th Ward: The Silver Case. It’s been a while since I last played it.
I’m also curious about that new translation of The Silver Case, even if it’s not coming anytime soon, as they say.
Thank you for sharing!

Regarding the retranslation patch for The Silver Case, I really hope it's not one of those cases where it's a literal 1:1 translation where the personality of both the original Japanese text and the official translation/localization is gone, because the official translation of The Silver Case (even with its flaws) is great.

Oh hell yeah👍 loved this game even through it's graphically compromised ds port... I actually bought a pal version on eBay because it was a rare occasion where an English version released in Europe before it did over here in the US for me ..and I was impatient ^^; and I've beat it several times now...guess next time will be a playthrough of the PS2 original at this rate 🥹

Oh yeah, don’t get me wrong. I didn’t mean to shit on the official translation or anything (I think it’s great, too). I’m just curious about this new one they’re working on. If anything, it’d just be an excuse to play it again.
And if it turns out not to be that good, there’s always the official one to fall back on.

To don't spoil people it actually make one of the joke in the game better regarding its graphics lolol.

But on the other hand I would like to play a remake version that graphics looks like its official 2D artworks and for that specific "day" in the game they can use the original graphical style to make the joke intact lol.

Guess I’ll play it again in the meantime, ’cause I don’t remember the joke you’re referring to — and now I’m genuinely curious.
Thanks for the info!

Hmm. I didn't play the NDS version so I have no idea how bad its translation could be because most of the time English versions of Japanese games actually goes too off the script therefore translator writes their own story at that point (the biggest example is Persona series and therefore actually many officially translated games need proper fan translations), but in PS2 version the day you meet that annoying kid he makes the joke and that's all the "spoiler free" tip I can mention lol. Possibly in the NDS version the translator didn't get the joke and changed the subject to "what make sense" which is how Japanese games usually translated SMH.

I don’t know, either. I didn’t have any problems with the translation of this game (or the Persona games, for that matter). I’m not sure if you’re referring to localization issues or something else entirely. The thing is, I don’t know Japanese and I’m not planning on learning anytime soon, so I’ll take what I can get. Beggars can’t be choosers, after all.

I played The Silver Case last year and enjoyed it quite a bit and I had heard that this was the direct sequel to that game so I've been excited for something like this to come out at some point. Figured I'd hold off on the DS version largely just because I'd prefer to experience Masafumi Takada's score for the game without it being mangled by the tinny DS sound card.
