The End of Xbox is Here

I think Microsoft will integrate Xbox into Windows and sale Xbox hardware as a prebuilt PC. They just have to find a way to make Xbox emulation run well on windows. Xbox could be a virtual machine.

It just sucks Microsoft didn't use Xbox as a budget friendly option and are going for full power with their rumored last machine.

That's not a bad idea and I am sure that would be a success. Let's wait and see, maybe Microsoft will come up with such an idea itself.

It's so sad. 😭
How did this happen...

It'll never be considered anything close to PC while they charge for online multiplayer.

Unless there was some way around it say you could install Steam on it and THEN you could play multiplayer free.

I have no desire to get an XBox but I hate paid multiplayer so much that it's the only thing that could consider me ever getting an XBox if they ditched it.

Here's my issue with the Next-Gen Xbox-PC hybrid.

The weakest link in PC gaming is and always has been Windows, because lets be real; Windows sucks for gaming.

Windows 11 is a mess, Windows Live was a disaster, the ROG X is a nightmare to actually get working, and not since "Games for Windows 95" has anything just worked straight out the box with no real issues.

The only time Microsoft has been any good in the gaming space was with the Xbox consoles and that's because Windows was no part of it!

But now "Xbox" is going to become an App that fully relies on Windows, and I don't see why anyone thinks to is going to be a good thing. Microsoft have had 25 years to get gaming right on Windows and have failed, but they want people to trust them that in two years from now it's all going to be magically fixed and work flawlessly?

Give me a break.

Windows is the lead platform for PC gaming and has been for 3 decades.

It sucks because it's usually a bloated resource hog, insane by fundamental design, but it is also heavily supported compared to any alternative OS. The only reason Linux is even viable right now for gaming is due to Proton handling windows applications, Valve having been practical about it, and surrendering the fight to get more native Linux support.

Windows is the weakest link only in that it always has the biggest opportunity to be optimized or improved, and Microsoft usually just opts to drop the ball or turn heel in some way.

Esto es mas falso que la varta del falso

According to the internet, the "end of Xbox" has been happening since November 2001.

Not really that early . They pushed the xbox brand really hard at the start but tripped on their own idiocy often when we look what they did to the game-development from Rare and other studios which are hired by the Microsoft thenselves .

I think the mid xbox 360 era was the start of their downfall . While their console was a huge success , they didnt understood and reflect their own draconian idiocy which brought them to their real deadly wound as the Xbox one . From there they slowly and painfully died and getting rotten inside till to this day .

Or in short : They actually found gold but miss-valued hard and it wasnt enough for them .

Glad it's working out for them, but i'm surprised anyone would grab one when the steam deck is so much cheaper.
Although the ROG Ally is technically a competitor to the Steam Deck, the Ally X lets you use both Xbox Game Pass and Steam while also having a mode to switch to Windows proper, so it is effectively a Steam Deck. You gotta understand though that the "handheld PC market" is a very, very different sort of niche. People WILL pay out the a$$ for these sorts of things. The GPD Win series has been extremely successful over the years, but look at these prices

The ROG Ally & Ally X are actually among the BARGAIN products in the handheld PC market. ASUS scoring the Xbox branding and keeping the cost down was a major win for both companies.

Well deserved, for some reason they think it's a good idea to make radical changes overnight and the only ones affected are the players.
I want to see them trying to survive without the people who put them where they are.

The only thing that will save Xbox is if M$ is broken up. M$ is too big for Xbox and they're killing it for being a nuisance to them. It's truly sad when Billions of dollars in profit means nothing to the parent company.
