The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered

Holy shit this Oblivion Remastered is just bad, plain garbage even.
They didn't even try to improve a bit of the annoying gameplay at all by adding FO4 or even Skyrim's decent features on it, merely sprinting and the broken enemy level rubberbanding and that's it.
And you tell me it's extra 120GB of nothing but graphics update alone? They probably can compress it to just 3/4th of that, for God's sake.

I'm no longer annoyed at the "Body Type" thing in modern game (although there's no valid reasons to have implemented it to begin with) but I'm a bit confused that in some of the races it's hard to see the differences between the two. I mean for Orcs I can see why but out of all Khajits and Argonians are the only where they're clearly distinct.

PS: Why isn't there a bloom slider for the game?

I get the hatred towards it, but I'm over that. Especially since modders release mods almost immediately to change it back to male/female. What I am annoyed about it that Bethesda decided to separate the DLC from the main game just to make a quick buck. Back in 07 they released everything all at once as a Game of the Year Edition. Don't know why they couldn't do the same here. Also, their EULA's state they can release an anti-cheat tool to scan your computer to combat cheats and mods. They don't have anti-cheat in the game now, but I don't trust these EULA's. It gives them the potential to release one.

Well there may be a problem regarding that,Nexus Mods banned the Mod who adds Man and Female to Oblivion Remaster already for some reason.

Western Game Dev's really forgot how to optimize there games, back in the day they made sure that everyone could play there games and now they Insist that you need the newest and most modern High tech gaming Pc to play there games.i mean a game that costs 80gb or more come on I would like to play other games on my Pc besides that game to.

I'm no longer on Nexus for quite a while but if Body Types are not an issue then why a purely cosmetic mod would be?

Maybe the staff on this site have some opinions on the question and they deemed that mod to be contrary to theirs.

The worst is that Type A and Type B still implies genders and gender-specificities such as the shape of the chest area or the shoulder and hips width. Removing the terms male and female while not allowing other configurations (like nonbinary or neutral looking) makes it more of a lose/lose scenario.

I think that when Animal Crossing since New Leaf allowed character of both genders to dress with any kind of clothing or Saints Row allowing a male character to have grown breasts were probably better both in the inclusivity part while still retaining the conventional names.

I am still offended that they don't have a body type C and D Option but well jokes aside. They don't really care for societal Issues only about money and what makes them the most amount of money ( I am Talking about Bethesda right not) in there Opinion, they are nobodies allies besides there own.And regarding Nexus Mods who knows maybe they Hate Man and Females so much that they can't tolerate it its crazy for as nobody would be forced to Install and play that mod.To be honest i don't care how anybody plays there Games its not my business as long as they have fun but apparently Nexus Mods cares,In my Opinion if a Company really cared they just could add Female/Male/Other(Non Binary) option problem solved but the most simplest solution is so alien to them its crazy.I wonder really how they could get so successful with that Business sense they have.

Anticheat in Bethesda games is meant for the ingame stores where they can make money out of the community mods. It's just another layer of DRM.

But yeah, bodytype is a nothingburger for polarized muricans who got somewhat offended when they learned that dwarf women are bearded in their fantasy videogames. It's just noise preventing people to talk about the games real issues.

I really hate the look of this. It looks like an AI UE5 asset swap to me. Give me the high contrast green forests and the bloom. Without those two things, the world looks incredibly dull to me. I tried some on Game Pass Ultimate, switched over to my original version of Oblivion and yeah, I'll take the old one with a distinct look over UE5 slop.

I do miss the overblown bloom effect, but maybe thats just my nostalgia

Or maybe its just the weather conditions in that shot and it looks better on a sunnier day idk

Another layer of DRM that will end up punishing the consumers.

That's the thing. Whichever side your looking at this from, it's the raving lunatics that get mad. Either because the developer changed from male/female to Body Type A/B or because a mod was made to revert it back. I also think the change was made mandatory by Microsoft in order for a game to be released on their platform. Take that with a grain of salt though because it was something I read somewhere, but I can't remember where.

Either way, I don't care too much about that nonsense because my purchase decisions is based on if the game is way too preachy (Dustborn, Dragon Age Veilguard) or if the company is anti-consumer (Ubsioft).

There are other sites that remedy that issue. My go to if a mod is removed from Nexus Mods is Based Mods.

Not a fan of Nexus Mods at all since they seem incredibly fragile and will remove inoffensive mods that somehow offend them.

imo there is absolutely nothing wrong with the original
BUT the original version that was available on steam conveniently had no controller support 🤷
if it did i bet this remake wouldn't sell half as well

I have yet to find a company nowadays which is *not* anticonsumer. Bethesda's mod ingame store is worse than hurting consumers tho. They're hurting modders, by giving them peanuts and doing 95% of the profit on each mod purchase.

And of course, when they're not closing whole studios, Microsoft is also hurting their employees, with abuse and harassment. In Bethesda's case it was only 2 years ago that they forced a trans employee to quit by menacing to cancel their health insurance, while she was just in the middle of transitionning.

NexusMod got the mod to remove bodytypes back online btw, so all the culture warriors can celebrate their "victory" by buying another Bethesda game. Sheeples easily fooled. They deserve their slop.

No. When I think back to my memories playing Oblivion, it's all bloom. The bloom is what makes it look like Oblivion.

Along with the "Western Game DEVs can't optimize their games"
I find out the game is not remade in Unreal Engine 5
Gamebryo engine which powered the original Oblivion is still running within Unreal Engine 5 shell

Which means Double the Performance issues!

Original Oblivion held a special place in my heart, but how do fans accept this because it's what oblivion "needed" and praise Bethesda for reselling the same game bloated!

Those culture warriors are just normie gamers. They only cared about the whole Body Type nonsense just as long as they can get the X ad bucks. They still bought the game because everyone was talking about it. They claimed to have played the original back in the day, but I highly, highly doubt that's the case. They were probably too busy sprucing up their MySpace page.

Maybe that's just astroturfing and marketing nowadays. Bots army clashing in a dead internet, and fake controversy just to engineer some visibility. Oblivion was a meh game at best, only getting interesting with Shivering Isles and modding. Since Morrowind, Bethesda only started the slow slope down. Now they get their work done by sweatshop studios.

Interesting, I guess adding Type1/Type2 might result in more sales by sheer amount of free marketing as a side effect of the controversy surrounding it, then the cost of actual real lost sales over it.
