The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered

For what it's worth you can get a month of gamepass and try it out.
Though I guess it wouldn't share saves or achievements etc since it's not the steam version, if that's a thing that matters.
I have so many games on the backlog, I can wait.
The added benefit of waiting for when it goes on sale is it will (hopefully) have the janky bits patched by then too.

idk why they dont just label it Masculine and Feminine instead of Type1 and Type2. would make more sense, no?
The general idea is that "Type" maximises roleplaying potential, because you're able to define the identity of your character at a slightly more detailed level (even if it's only yourself who knows), and wouldn't feel as coded to fem/masc just for choosing a body type, since for some it's more than that.

I personally liked how Black Ops Cold War did that. It let you pick "non-binary" gender, while keeping male/female options

Yeah, I guess it depends on the kind of game it is. I don't know how it works in CoD so I'm not familiar with the "purpose" of it in that game, but only because I don't play them.
I feel like the "type" naming conventions are the most effective in at least roleplaying games because of the whole, you know, roleplaying, aspect. The more it allows for you to roleplay a given identity and immerse yourself in the character you're making, the better.

As a Body Type 4, I'm highly offended by the lack of inclusion here. The RPG potential for me is ruined. I WILL be writing an angry bluesky post about this

yeah shoving 2025 terminally online terminology into a medieval fantasy game is totally letting me immerse myself into this medieval fantasy game.

You can play the character you want to play. It's still there.

Burly faces thick jaw lines big chin bones.
Okey comparison.

Why does the new game have that female nord looking like Jefff the squire boy

Honestly, I feel these all look fine, the modded game from 14 years ago looks a bit weird though. Woman can 100% have those features and still look feminine. A lot of that Nord photos is also probably lighting; she doesn't have that big of a chin either imo, I'm sure we'll be able to change the face features like in the original oblivion.

I personally do the reasonable thing and wait and see before i make my full Opinion on this Game, maybe its good or maybe its a broken censored mess only time will tell.I personally can only give everyone the personal advice never buy on release nowadays wait a couple of weeks first and watch if those games have any game breaking bugs that need to be fixed first.Or look out for stuff you personally dislike that was added before buying, and if everything is fine you can still buy the game after its not running away and if it turns out to be bad you saved yourself some money for a better game so a Win Win situation if you ask me.

I tried the original one the last year, but didn't like it. This one can't run on my potato laptop, I would not interested anyway, I like japanese RPGs more, where there are anime girls instead of girls who look more realistic.

Well when your UGLY in real life why would one wanna be ugly in games ??

And I need to ask what´s wrong with playing hot charter like who is it killing who suffers massive trauma over hot charters ?

People need to get their heads out their ass and accept that EVERY one has different tastes this taboo of having having hot charter needs to stop.

And we need to be angry over REAL unfair things life.

All im saying hot charters is not end of the world.

I hope you all like Body Type A and Body Type B its going to be in the Game View attachment 60994
Personally I find the whole Body Type A and B extremely as an empty gesture and hilariously disingenuous
Barebones nothing burger

AND CYBERPUNK DID IT BETTER

If they weren't cowards they could give like 6 MULTIPLE Different Body types, or even better
Character sliders for each part of the body! Give more customization to the players then! 😤

BAH! If I see "Type 1" and "Type 2" character selection with NO Options for body sliders or the very least different body builds, I'm legally obligated to make fun of this game!

My hypocrisy is incredible. I kept telling my friends I’ll implode if they fuck it up. Yet here it is. Pretty much bug-free too. Granted, it’s not developed by Bethesda, so that’s probably it.

However:

It’s so faithful - it’s boring.

I’m bored.

It’s straight up Oblivion. I’m glad it’s straight up oblivion, yet I feel nothing playing this, because I’ve already played it 4 times before.

Nothing is pulling me in to explore it - because I’ve seen it all before. After four hours, I’m sitting here wishing they did something different.

But hey, at least Gen Alpha and Zoomers will now be able to access it easier.

I wish they could've done to Arena and Daggerfall the same thing that happened to Doom with a "sourceport" that allows higher resolution windows as well as a proper pad support.

Same with Morrowind with a Nightdive-like remaster (keeping the original graphics and art style but refined controls).

I loved the original and have been playing the remaster since yesterday, and I absolutely love it. Yes it's a bit buggy, yes there's some pop-in and the game has crashed once for me, but I am running it on a laptop set to medium graphics and it still looks amazing. I loved Oblivion 20 years ago, it was one of my childhood games I spent so much time in, but I haven't played it in about 10 years. But with the remaster, I get to delve into this world that I adored all over again with modern graphics and smooth gameplay. The combat feels awesome, and being that the arena was my favorite part of Oblivion, it's even better. I mean just look at the arena (reminder that this is medium graphics settings)

The rebalancing, gameplay feel and animations are so much better it feels like a new game to me, but with the funny charming things of the original.

I’m happy it still has that unique Oblivion feel where it’s like everyone’s a bit insane, was afraid the updated graphics would affect the feel but they’re as quirky as ever.

Been having a good time so far, taking it really slow. Here’s me about to meet an old buddy:

Oof this is raw. Fake volumetric everywhere makes it look like lighting is broken. Remind me of the broken bloom of the original. We'll have to wait for modders to fix that I guess. If they even bother.

At least the good news is, the VR mod is already there with UEVR.
