The "cozy games"

So can anyone explain what you guys mean by "cozy games". I obviously know what the word cozy means, but some of you seem to have a very specific type of game in mind whenever the word is said.

So as everyone replies, each person has their own definition of a cozy game. Some think of it like games specifically made to be relaxing and with little going on, like the forementioned Harvest Moon games and Stardew Valley. However, some find games they regularly enjoy as cozy, even if they are adventure games, open world, or anything that collides with the other definition. As for me, games I know well enough so I can't die are cozy, lol.

To add onto this, any game that is nostalgic for you will likely make you feel cozy, regardless of what the game itself is. Shadow of memories is another one that invokes feelings of cozyness for me, even though the game itself is pretty bleak

Any game that let you play at your own pace without anything pressuring you to keep progressing through the game is "Cozy" for me. Rune Factory above is a good example, 3 and Oceans are my favorite for uhh... some other reason.

I mention Steambot Chronicles countless time before but yeah, this is it for me.
Wake up, smell the air, drink coffee for breakfast, play music in the street, export stuff to earn money, buy lunch, walk around town enjoying the beautiful noon scenery, checking out daily stock prices, back to town, get to arena, ask the girl out on a date, cook dinner, sleep, rinse and repeat.

My version of cozy games might be different from others but some days I want a low stress game with a relaxing aesthetic to calm the mind. A lot of retro/retro style games with beautiful visuals and not too high of a difficulty I find relaxing most of the time. Especially if it's an RPG and I can chill in a town during downtime.

My favorite games usually end up feeling pretty cozy to me. Hell, I'd easily lump Ecco in there... until it's NOT. >>

How it's been explained to me: low-stress, low-challenge, repetitive tasks. Graphically, bright and colorful. Is this accurate? Likely not for everyone because it's all relative, as this thread has covered.

It's basically what they're called now, like I explained before you can find any game cozy, but the "cozy game genre" mostly falls into what you described.

The game, i always found to be my Cozy Game was Simcity
On the SNES actually. when i had it, i had the Mario paint game as well, and the Mouse works with it

Also... sending King Koopa/Bowser to stomp a City Godzilla style was Awesome!
