No, please don't

Heavily reminiscing 'bout the '90s just amps up my depression

My inner child will be forlornly murmuring repeatedly "I wanna go home" 😔

Ah the good old 90s. Some of the best video games, cartoons and anime of all time. Also, some of the shittiest mainstream metal after '92 or so. ::cirnoshrug

Hey, man: I realize this wasn't intentional, but your Power Rangers were really into Tommy shouting his color :P Please be careful when posting gifs, since many are edited after the first few frames.

I miss the nineties mostly because it was a carefree environment where escapism existed, but was tightly controlled in most households and that was perfectly normal -- we got TV and gaming, but also had to earn them.

I kind of shudder when I'm walking down the street and see literal kids with their faces shoved to phones with little regard for the world around them.

Yeah I kind of missed that LOL

I have to be a bit more careful. I didn't even see it.

I wish I could go back to the 90s. MTV was still good. I would watch MTV for hours at a time. I know a lot of people like to complain that grunge killed hair metal. But I don't feel like that was the case. Hair metal had been around for over a decade at that point. And general glam style longer than that. The scene was not going to last forever. It was already in its death throes despite a lot of good music still coming out. People didn't suddenly stop listening to Poison and Motley Crue because Nirvana burst into the scene. Well unless they were posers. And nobody likes posers.

The hair metal scene was filled to the brim at this point. Record execs were signing copy/paste bands en masse. It got tiring. Meanwhile there were still so many acts popular in local scenes that never made it. There was still a lot of talent left over. But the scene itself was played out. Bands that went too far trying to innovate tended to lose some long-term fans and not gain many new ones. Lots of good albums like Warrant's Dog Eat Dog fell under the radar because it came out at the wrong time.

But when you look at who is still around now? A lot of those hair bands have most or all living members to this day. And they do the festivals and cruises. Yet they had some really dangerous party lifestyles. It's crazy how this all worked out.

Anyway, I rambled on about music too much because I tend to do that when it comes to MTV. I watched a ton of MTV. Oh so much MTV. 😵‍💫

Absolutely the Golden Age of video games.
Not to mention all the other great stuff. For me, it was the last truly great decade before everything changed.

Truly and undoubtedly one of the best and greatest decades of all time alongside the '80s.
