for me it's the echo grid segment in jak 3. you're constantly moving clockwise having to pick up each orb and if you make one mistake you have to start over. there's also this thing that spawns and replaces every orb in a single column. i guess its not THAT hard after playing it as a adult but when i was like 10 years old, yeah this was huge road block. still don't think its very fun.

I really disliked the ending of ni no kuni 2, its the only part to require you interact with mechanics so I had ignored them until I got hit with a multi hour grind right before the final boss. It'd be better on replay but if still dislike it

Hot take but I don't mind the dam level lol, I got really good at it as a kid and had more trouble after stage 3 lol.

My pick would be Star Ocean - Till the End of Time on the PS2, everything after the shitty plot twist about 80% of the way through the game lol

They don't ruin the game but I don't play Crash 3 as often as 1 because of the gimmick levels. The ones where you pilot a plane are my least favorite ones.

As much as I personally enjoy Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, the opening of the game is brutal to play through more than once.

Unfortunately I like Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door a little less each time I play it, and anyone who's played it should know that the search for the bob omb General White around/after Chapter 6 is just blatant padding. So unnecessary having to back track to every single world and speak to specific characters in each world in a specific order to trigger the next one is one of the dumbest ideas I've ever seen for such a good game.

The underwater section in Dino Crisis 2. That part SUCKS, lol.

But Lud's Gate in Tomb Raider 3 has to be worse. Specifically the big underwater maze section, worst part of the London levels by far.

the guy who designed the megaman legends 2 S license test demanded a level of mastery seen nowhere else in the game or series, and specifically, demanded sub-mastery of a skill (lifting enemies and throwing them at each other) that comes in handy like, a handful of times later.

The Okumura boss battle in Persona 5. Fuck that time limit. You have to be perfect or else you’re fucked.

GTA V is a great game even if everyone has grown quite sick of it by this point.
But doing this mission makes me wanna staple my balls to the game's case.
Doing it the first time around was perfectly fine, doing it for the 500th time on repeated playthroughs gives you a lobotomy from how fucking boring this shit is.
