There is a really cool romhack of tenchu 1 and 2 available that gives them somewhat modern controls. It's not bug free, (the important one being that movement and camera gives X1Y1 input until you press the "analog" button), but it's super interesting. I'm not sure the modder is going to fix the bugs, so maybe we should take it as it is.

This game is amazing my friends customized a tight alley filled to the brim with thugs and ninjas just to see if you could make to the other end they called it thug alley love that you can customize your own levels with item and and enemy placement 10/10

The Tenchu series definitely deserves to be brought back.
All the Ninja games from the 90s to the early 2000s deserve to be remastered just like the Ninja Gaiden games.
